Are there any titles you just won't pick up, either because they don't interest you, or you have issues with the creative team, or whatever?

I'll read anything at least once, just as I'll watch anything at least once, and I'll play any game at least once. I make judgements based upon that. If it turns out to be interesting, I stick with it.

manga. Spider-books, X-books, most Super and Bat books. anything written by Palmiotti & Gray, Winick, Bruce Jones, Loeb (unless Tim Sale is doing the art), Claremont, books by Joe Mad, JMS, Joss Whedon, I'm sure there's stuff I'm forgetting.

Mainly Winick and Byrne, but basically anyone whose work is overhyped to the point that it simply cannot live up to the fanbase surrounding it (i.e. - most of the works of Bendis, Loeb, Johns, and others...)

Byrne's current work, and anything written by Brian Asserello. Also anything drawn by Carlos Meglia or Duncan Rouleau.

Byrne's current work is pretty awful. Azzerello outside of 100 Bullets and that type of thing sucks as well. Rouleau's a horrible artist, and can kill my interest on sight. Chris Bachalo's current stuff is the same. David Finch, also, whose poor storytelling abilities have killed my interest in New Avengers (along with Wolverine. groan).

For the most part I wont read books where the art is worse than my art ability. If I can't gain from studying it, I won't buy it.

I find Winnick's work suffers mainly when it has a social issue wedged badly into it. (I'm all for social issues in comics, but not when forced in uncomfortably).
Although I loathe the idea of Jason Todd coming back, that arc was pretty good.

If a character or a creative team piques my interest, or if the concept sounds too interesting to pass up, I'll give just about anything a try. There are books I don't read but it's just personal taste, not avoidance. Batman, for example.

The creators I actively avoid are the ones that've burned me, either with their inability to keep to a simple fucking deadline, or their arrogance in the face of criticism. Todd McFarlane, Rob Liefeld, and Joe Madureira (sp) are great examples. As a matter of fact, Joe Maureira tops my list of "creators" to actively avoid. Word around Chi-Town is, he's signed an exclusive deal with Marvel. I can assure you that I'll be saving my money there. If he's on a book that I collect, I'll be taking a break from it for as long as he's on it. Fuck Joe Madureira. Fuck him in his stupid, inconsiderate, arrogant ass. As a matter of fact, stretch is ass wide open and then use a (huge) slingshot to shoot LLance into it.

Madureira can fucking die for all I care. Ass-fuck. I hope his wife is cheating on him with the Dreamwave crew.

MisterJLA: RACKS so hard, he called Jim Rome "Chris Everett." In Him, all porn is possible. He is far above mentions in so-called "blogs." RACK him, lest ye be lost!

I tend to avoid certain books rather than certain writers. This is because mainstream books are controlled to a greater or lesser extent by editors and editorial policy.

Pimping my site, again.
