SPOLER WARNING SPOILER WARNING SPOILER WARNING
I just got back from seein' this tonight...
I enjoyed it. Thought it would be played more for comedy, as the trailers and advertisements led me to believe.
Actually, it's a pretty violent heist flick.
Russell is good, as I expected. Arrquette and Slater are basically just throw away characters who end up dyin' early.
But, completely unexpected, Costner kinda shines as the nutcase of the group. He is incredibly creepy in this flick...reminding me somewhat of Rutger Hauer in "The Hitcher".
And the action scenes, which of there are several, are psuedo-John Woo, and resemble some of the stuff Woo did for "Face/Off". I've never heard of the director of "3000 Miles", though.
Oh yeah, and anyone else who has seen this...
did you catch the subtle hint that Russell's character and Costner's may be half brothers?
Y'know, when Russell is on the boat with Courtney Cox and he states that his dad gave him the boat after he died, and then tosses aside the gold record? and they do mention that there were two plantiffs in the Elvis paternity case that came back positive after the DNA test, and they never mention who the other is...just Costner.
