Inspired by Pro's "History of the Authority thread...
Chewy Walrus casts...
THE AUTHORITY!
Jenny Sparks - Melissa George Though known largely as a horror film vixen, it was George's turn as the conniving Lauren Reed on "Alias" that convinced me she had the stones to pull off the Authority's no-nonsense, all-attitude leader, Jenny Sparks.
Jack Hawksmoor - Matthew Fox Basically, what it comes down to for Jack is someone who can kick ass in a suit without shoes. Fox not only looks like Hawksmoor, but has the build and acting chops to pull off the role.
Apollo - Vladimir Kulich Not exactly 'well-known' by any stretch of the imagination, Kulich is still a fairly talented actor with a number of roles to his credit. His turn as the leader of the Norsemen in The 13th Warrior was the highlight of an otherwise crappy Banderas film. Kulich also has the look to play the Authority's resident Sun King.
Midnighter - Rufus Sewell An accomplished actor with credits that range from Shakespeare to sci-fi in his repetoire, Sewell has both the grittiness and the dark humor necessary to play the lethal Midnighter.
Swift/Shen Li-Min - Ziyi Zhang Sexy, graceful, and capable of kicking much ass, Ziyi Zhang has separated herself as one of the best (if not the best) Asian performer in Hollywood. Her skills both as an actress and a femme fatale (see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) make her the perfect choice to play the Tibetan Swift.
Engineer/Angie Spica - Jennifer Connelly When I first read 'The Authority,' I knew that there was really no one else who could do the Engineer justice like Jennifer Connelly. Easily the most noteworthy member of this cast, Connelly has both the acting chops and the body (and how!) to make a character with nanotechnology for blood believable.
Doctor/Jeroen Thornedike - Paul Bettany Bettany is a superb actor, having played a variety of roles. It seems to me that he would be perfect for the Authority's hard-rocking, wild-living shaman with a heart of gold.

It's a bit of a stretch for me to see her as anything but Angel from Home and Away (and I hate that show) ... but it could work.

I heard somebody suggest Kevin Sorbo for the role. What do you think?

If Sorbo could act, I probably wouldn't have a problem with it...

Outstanding job, Walrus! I've always seen Clooney as Hawksmoore. But, you actually convinced me that Fox could do it. Good Swift choice, as well. Very nice...
