That's really sad. I somehow got away with "Mark Henry sucks (Daivari watches)" at the Royal Rumble because it didn't say "WWF" and at least 30 people there saw it.

Its a well known fact that all signs are checked before entering the arena, so yes Mahon is all for censoring the fans!
Of course they do miss the odd one or people write on the back of "tame" signs once they are in, but I remember seeing a sign ripped from a fan during a match a few years ago, just after the Great White club fire.
The sign said "Great White fear pyro".
When I went to see Smackdown last month, one of the people in my group was sad enough to bring signs he created that said things like "The Rock:Just bring it" (why he made Rock signs I dont know).
When we entered the arena, the security checked them & at one point looked like they were gonna take them away from him.
And that quote was apparently from a fan at the show who witnessed it!

i knew signs were checked for obscenities or advertisements ... but i didn't think they'd be taken because they were against storylines

they've almost always taken away signs that they felt didn't reflect what they thought the fans should think. as far back as the Hogan era, they've confiscated certain signs.
