Earth 2

For Immediate Release
Lightest exoplanet yet discovered

Well-known exoplanet researcher Michel Mayor today announced the discovery of the lightest exoplanet found so far. The planet, ā€œeā€, in the famous system Gliese 581, is only about twice the mass of our Earth. The team also refined the orbit of the planet Gliese 581 d, first discovered in 2007, placing it well within the habitable zone, where liquid water oceans could exist. These amazing discoveries are the outcome of more than four years of observations using the most successful low-mass-exoplanet hunter in the world, the HARPS spectrograph attached to the 3.6-metre ESO telescope at La Silla, Chile.

Yeah, I know.

But, you have to admit that the possibility of finding a planet remotely Earth-like is fucking awesome...

Man, finding and colonizing another planet is the ultimate of ultimates for me. The most precious commodity humans have is land to live on. If we suddenly got an Earth-like planet to use...well, we could kiss Texas good-bye. They'd be on the first colony shuttle.

And yes, I realize the sheer science fiction of finding, let alone getting and colonizing a perfectly uninhabitable planet. Still, the possibilities are awesome to consider...

Agreed, sometimes I think I was born a little too early. I'm going to witness the first man on Mars probably. Or maybe a telescope view on a Earthlike habitable planet if I'm lucky. I can only dream about what will be discovered in the centuries after that.

Me too. I'd bet money he voted for himself. In fact, any President that didn't is either slightly psychotic, or extremely arrogant.

Also, I voted 'No'. I'm not certain what horrors he's unleashed in the Politics Forum, but he's fresh meat. It's always fun to have fresh meat around. If nothing else, I like watching rex yap at their heels for a few months before moving on to someone else. He stayed with Knut for a looong time. Oh, and shit, he won't even let Beardguy go! \:lol\:

Anyway, no, Juche can stay. New is good...

If only to set an example, who knows your followers might think it's also okay to vote for the opponent.

And who is Knut? Sounds Scandinavian.

I might read later, first going to sleep, I already hear the birds whistling.

Did he vote for Obama?

Does he believe in the evolution theory?

Did he think WWII could have been prevented in 1936?

Or what else is wrong with him?

I remember when SuperEarth died. Then, four new SuperEarths appeared. One was a lot younger and claiming to be the clone of SuperEarth. Another was really a black Earth covered in high tech armor. There was the one SuperEarth that claimed to be the real SuperEarth with a new suit and strange electrical powers. Then, there was the half Earth, half robot SuperEarth who turned out to be evil when the real SuperEarth returned.
