Sorry, I haven't been around the last two months or so, but I've been on a pretty wild ride.

At the end of March, I moved into the new and improved Stately Firefly Manor out in the cornfields 40 miles west of Chicago and really haven't had much time to screw around on the computer (Props to Franta and the Silver Armadillo. Thanks for the assist guys! Hope your backs have recovered from all the long boxes!) Of course, I would have had plenty of time to screw around on the ol 'puter if it weren't for the fact that I'm so freakin' far out here, it took them four freakin' weeks to run a phone line out here!!! Hopefully, running water will be next...*sigh*

Of course, now that I'm finally getting settled in, I get to deal with all the other bs. Guests over the last three weekends for dinner on Saturday, one coming in from out of town for the weekend. Mrs. Teasdale was due with little rufus on June 2nd, which meant that I've had to go to baby showers the last two Sundays in a row. And of course, putting the baby's room together.

You can guess what happened next. Yep, her water broke this morning. at 5:15 am. As I was trying to get ready for work. I was actually looking forward to going back into the office today. Catch up on some of my shit that's been lagging behind while I've been in and out over the last few weeks. A chance to get away from my hormonal wife. In short, relaxation...*sigh*

Good news is that little rufus was born this morning at 10:46 am. 6lb 14oz, 19 3/4 long, hung like a horse. Mom and baby are both doing fine. We went in, even though she hadn't started active labor, right after her water broke, and they immeadately determined he was breach. They gave us about two hours to relax, and told us they were taking him by C-section. Operation went off without a hitch and the little man came out perfect. It's pretty cool to see the little guy come out now after 8 months of anticipation.

I'd just thought I'd drop ya all a line and let ya know what's goin' on. If you don't see me around too much over the next few months, you now know not to take it personally. I just have better stuff to do now

Now, being a new parent and all, here's a few things that you must remember.

• You'll never get to sleep ever again. EVER!
• All your cool stuff will now either have to be stored away out of the kid's reach, or burned.
• The bigger the kid, the bigger the poopie.
• Infants have the unexplainable knack to generate 100x their body weight in poopie.
  When your kid learns to talk, the word poopie will be funny to him.
