From www.commicscontinuum.com:

Cartoon Network's upcoming Justice League animated series will be an hour-long show, the network announced on Wednesday.

As part of a press conference in New York City detailing its plans for the 2001-2002 season, Cartoon Network also announced that Justice League will premiere in November.

According to Justice League writer Rich Fogel, it won't be a case of two half-hour stories comprising the hour.

"All the stories are one hour," Fogel told The Continuum. "The pilot will run 90 minutes."

Justice League is being produced by Batman/Superman/Batman Beyond producer Bruce Timm at Warner Bros. Animation. Cartoon Network has ordered 26 half-hours.

Neither the network nor Warner Bros. Animation has released art from the show yet. A representative said it will be "a while" before art from the series is shown to the public.

interesting... the show will be an hour, but cartoon network ordered it in half hours. ...odd...

other than that, tho... i am disturbingly excited about this!! its gonna be sooo cool!

the only conceivable flaw in this is the absence of paul dini (who, i imagine, IS actually somewhat related to the project, as he's very good friends with the rest of the crew inolved).

still, tho... an hour long, kick ass cartoon!!?? i cant wait!!!!!!!!

I was so used to Tim Daly as Supe's voice. I hope whoever they get will grow on me.

back in the "wings" days, i always thought daly would make a great live-action superman. i loved that he did the voice for supes in the cartoon.

im sure they'll get another good talent for it. the latest dc cartoons have always had good choices for voice acting.

I am incredibly psyched that Conroy is doing the Bat-Man's voice.

If Daly were to bulk up, he'd make a great live-action supes.

had i not known for a fact conroy did the WB btas voice, im not sure i would have thought he did.

i dont know if he portrayed it differently because it was a "two years later" kinda thing, but, the voice from the fox cartoon sounded differently to me. both VERY cool (and very well decided upon), but still, different.

im anxious to see which version of batman is used for the JLA cartoon. its possible, for toy production services (the largest reason why the WB version dropped the old looks), they'll design a whole new and/or hybrid look for batman. perhaps even a (slightly) new take on superman. my vote for batman is strongly for the WB black cape style.

can't wait to see shots of it!!!

Well, Dini IS busy on the live-action Batman Beyond script and a few comics right now, but I wouldn't be surpirsed to see him write a couple scripts down the line.

And remember that Dini wasn't even part of the original Fox team for B:TAS -- that whole series was created by Timm and Alan Burnett (the two leads on JLA's creation/production). Dini came later in preproduction with the recreation of Mr. Freeze, then gained his authority on the series when it moved to WB and he was placed on top with Timm while Burnett stuck to the back creating S:TAS...

So, in short -- it would kick ass even more with Dini, but its in the finest of hands even without him...
