Have we ever actually seen Mekt behind bars? Maybe he's a Science Police undercover cop or mole, not really evil - so he gets arrested along with the baddies, then released.

Also, in this version, Winath is shown as a traditional (21st century Earth-style) farming community - guys in trucks, farmers getting injured, rusty old machinery in the barn, the old farmhouse with the big front porch....in which case, homosexuality probably not tolerated very well.

In the 5YL series, Winath was a free-for-all, tear off your clothes, swim with the river maidens planet. Not surprising that Mekt would be gay, straight, or anything.

Certainly it hasn't been established either way in the current series. And we only suspect at this point that he's still evil. Time for Mekt to make a comeback!
