Wow, I never noticed so many Mini Apple bites posted here. It's wierd running into neighbors here on the 'Net, rather than down at my comic book store (The Source- plug plug).

So let's hear it folks- Where are ya'all from? Give a shout out to your peeps! (Ain't I so street?) Let's see where Legion fans roam and call home.

Los Angeles, and after two years, it's starting to feel like home. Going backward before that: Des Moines (4 years), Chicago (14), Des Moines again (2), Chicago again (Northwestern University, 4), and growing up in Des Moines.

That last city is the capital of Iowa, by the way, west of Illinois (where Chicago is). I know YOU intelligent folk here all know this, but you'd be surprised at the number of supposed "elite" students at Northwestern who had no idea where the peaceful place was that I grew up in.

For the sake of countering the stupid French-bashing these days, I give the interesting origin of city and river "duh MOYN," pronounced like (Obligatory Legion Reference here!) Jeff Moy.

"Originally, the river was named after an Indian tribe that lived there, the Moingouena. The French, who liked to abbreviate words, called it riviere des Moings. It later became riviere des Moines through folk etymology." -- From a link at Northern Illinois University

Anyhoo - us Aussies don't tend to use words like 'hiz-ouse', 'represent' or 'peeps', but I'll give a Hoy to all the Aussies who snuck in while Rob's back was turned, especially any of yas in Melbourne, Victoria.

I live in the neighborhood of Washington Heights on the island of Manhattan in the city of New York( in the state of the same name.)
I live a couple of blocks from Bulletproof Comics but I don't shop there 'cause they are horribly rude!!( perhaps they just don't like clowns?)
I buy my comics at Midtown Comics in Times Square and I simply adore the staff!! It's also a stone's throw from where I work.

One of the great things about living in NYC:
When I come home at 4AM in a stupor and with the munchies, I have my choice of Chinese, Italian, Dominican, Indian or Thai food be delivered to my house!! Such a luxury!!

That's awesome!

I got a season pass this year too... I also used it at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom when I was driving past in Louisville. It's cool that they are good at all Six Flags parks.

I love the DC-Related rides there. Superman and Batman are both loads of fun! I like how Batman is very spinny and loopy (but still smooth), very much like Bats slinging his way around Gotham City, and Superman, while not as intense, just is pure magic. It makes you feel like Superman, and it is one of the ONLY "flying coasters" in the world. We're very lucky to have it at Six Flags over Georgia. Oh, and if you're ever able to ride Deja Vu (it's down most of the time) I highly recommend it. I have never had so much pure, wonderful terror on a rollercoaster.

I still haven't ever got to ride the Superman coaster, (I just can't bring myself to say I haven't ridden Superman) but hopefully we'll be having a day for just us overgrown kids soon.

Of course, I'm such a stick-in-the-mud that I still like the Scream Machine best of all. And I wish they'd bring back Mo-Mo the Monster.

Bowling is sport, it's a sport I'm not good at, but it's a sport. So is mini-golf, and in my family Monopoly. (Well, Monopoly is a contact sport, so are most other board games in my house.)

My mistake, I also left out The Suicide Comandos. There last record is available at garage d'or records.

My Mom and sisters have gotten season passes to Six Flags New England for two summers now, and I'm feeling well enough nowadays where I'm hoping to go on a guest-pass sometime. Splash Harbor's right up my alley; stay cool in the water, maybe catch a couple of the rides (Batman!) early before the heat of the day sets in. I just need to save up some cash to buy Marvin the Martian stuff while I'm there... [biiiig grin]

I've been to P.E.I. (and most of the other Maritimes), does that help? :)

It was very pretty -- I definitely wouldn't mind returning again sometime when it's warm.

Batman: The Ride is great -- it was one of the first "inverted" coasters. These days, there's a bunch of other Batman-themed coasters at various Six Flags, including a "flying coaster" (Knight Flight?) at a couple of them, I think. I've never been on the original Superman: The Ride at Magic Mountain (the line was always too long), but now there's Superman: Ride of Steel and Superman: Krypton Coaster at various Six Flagses (?) too.

Six Flags is rapidly becoming the McDonald's of theme parks... [biiiig grin]

Stuey! You know about coasters?

Actually, Superman: Ultimate Flight at Six Flags over Georgia was the first of its kind... the first B&M flying coaster, even though there were a couple of Vacoma flyers before it. It's tons of fun... you're hanging securely below the track... essentially in a Superman-type flying position. When you're in line, you can see riders of all shapes, colors, and sizes doing a "Superman" pose through the ride, with both arms outstretched or one hand in a classis Supes fist out ahead of them. It's a great ride and a great homage to the Man of Steel.

Though I hear Superman: Ride of Steel and Superman: Great Escape kick ass too!

I LOVE coasters. [humina humina] [humina humina] [humina humina]

I haven't been on any flying coasters, though -- B&M, Vacoma, or otherwise. I had the opportunity to try Stealth, but didn't have the time. [sad]

Inverted coasters are fun, too -- Dueling Dragons at Islands of Adventure was great, and the various Bat-clones always satisfy.

My favorite type of steel coaster at the moment is floorless -- Medusa at Marine World was DA BOMB. (I'd like to try Kraken at Sea World sometime, too.)

One day, I'm going to save up some $$$ and make a pilgrimage to Cedar Point -- Magnum XL-200, Millennium Force, and the rest -- then head south to Kings Island for Beast and Son of Beast! Woo-HOO!!! [woooOOOOoooo!] [woooOOOOoooo!] [woooOOOOoooo!]

BTW, when OMEGA-Matt and I were at Knott's Berry Farm, Ghostrider happened to be closed. I was SO pissed... [you sunnuva...]
