Anyway, on another message board, someone had this theory about what Earth 2 means:

• I think the AlteVerse is going to be the reality that Flocke creates when he lets our survivors go off the island and gives them "whatever they want"
  
  Sayid got Nadia back...but not in the way he would have wanted. But she is still alive, he can still "see her again". Sayid made a deal with the devil....
  
  They are all getting what they wanted, but in that twisted "deal with the devil" way where you dont get exactly what you thoguht you were getting. Locke got his life back, for better and for worse. He has family and loved ones, but he can't walk. Jack gets to break the cycle of his fathers anger, but hes still very much alone. Kate...well, I don't really know on that one...she got to help keep Claire and Aaron together, but shes still a convict on the run.
  
  I also think it makes sense in terms of where the season is going, that eventually we will find out this Sideways Universe is actually what happens if MiB wins and everyone gets to leave. Think about it this way, Dogen told us a story about a bargain that jacob gave him (his son life in exchange for his "life" off the island) which is a damned hard bargain. He made a deal.
  
  Flocke is making a deal too, and driving a hard bargain. You can get everything you ever wanted...but it wont be perfect. Of coruse, as with any theory, could we wrong, but something about that rings true to me. It just seems to fit in with actually making the sideways universe mean something to us, instead of just being the distraction it has appeared to be so far.

No. Now that you mention it, Unlocke is a pretty good name.

its a pretty solid theory. also, the producers did say the ending would be "bittersweet", and smocke winning would seemingly make it so.

Hard to say. Jin definitely has that possible side to him, although you haven't seen it since season 1.

I really don't think so however. I think Claire just assumed he was because he was in her hidey hole.

I also don't think Sawyer is truly on Not-Locke's side. He's Han Solo.

If anything he'll show up to save the day and give a "alright now let's blow this thing and go home."

I tend to agree. But if Unlocke was able to convince Jin that he was the key to being reunited with Sun I think all bets would be off.

And, yeah, Sawyer's whole character has always been about the con. No way he isn't at least trying to play Smokey.

I can't remember, why didn't anyone else care about the diamonds? Was it because they're no good on an island? Sawyer still might've cared.

They didn't care because it was back when they thought they were never going to get off the island.

You know, I think what we're seeing with the 'Earth 2' stuff is what happens after the series ends. By the end, I bet it's up to Jack to reset the timeline, and it creates the new reality we are seeing. I'm probably wrong, though. Also, I maintain that the island might be the Biblical 'Garden of Eden', with the smoke monster being the snake, and Jacob being the angel that guards the gates.

Just LOSTing. I'm going to miss this show.

I wish Miles and Lapidus had been with this show since Day One. Same with Michael Emerson's Ben Linus. Love those characters. In fact, the weakest characters are Jack and Kate, funny enough. Everyone else shines. Desmond! Fuck. Desmond is awesome. What about Mr. Eko? That guy left too soon. Although, I don't miss Ana-Lucia. I hated that cunt. Same with Nikki and Paulo. I miss Libby, though. She had some sweet knockers. Rousseau was hardcore.

I'm going to re-watch the entire series after it's over...
