Anyone that makes a song like "mmmmmmmbop" sucks. Period.

Incidentally, my family is from the same town, Tulsa OK.

I respect Hanson. They are still doing music and seem to be enjoying it. Nothing wrong with that.

I "respect" Hanson in the sense that they do write their own music and play their own instruments, so that puts them a level above artists like, Britney Spears or the Backstreet Boys.

But I still think their music blows.

I think they're a highly influential group, both in terms of lyrical content and what they stood for as one of the first punk bands.

Doesn't mean I love punk and ska. Certainly not modern punk.

Cool song! I saw them perform it live on Late Night With Conan O'Brien on a night my friends were in the studio audience in New York. (It was an episode with Paula Abdul and Lauren Graham, if that helps, if you care to seek out their live performance.)

Nightswimming – R.E.M.

I don’t think Michael Stipe really gets enough credit for his lyric writing abilities. Nightswimming begins with him driving around at night, with a photograph resting on the dashboard of his car. Every time he passes under a street lamp the picture gets reflected in the windshield. That’s a complicated image to put across well in a few lines of a song.

"Modern" punk as far Emptyvee pop punk bands is complete shit. There are however, quite a lot of good surfpunk and psychobilly bands around currently.

Possibly my fav REM song... good call.

What are some good punk bands then, since it was discussed earlier? It is a genere of music I know very little about and am wanting to explore.
