And you know what? It is fucking Crisis-y. Galactus is going to eat Earth-2. So there.
Don't really care much for the revival of an old Spawn spin-off like Angela, but whatever. The House of Ideas, indeed.

One of my favorite Galactus stories is SILVER SURFER: PARABLE by Stan Lee and Moebius. I also love the NOT BRAND ECCH story that parodies the Lee/Buscema origin story, where Galactus is a space-faring discount retail wheeler-dealer, and instead of silver, he wraps Norin Radd in Saran-wrap! Also, of course, the first Galactus story in FANTASTIC FOUR 48-50, and "Worlds Within Worlds" in FF 74-76.

I hope that's somewhat further down the list than banging a supermodel.

I've done that. Its ok.
I quite liked the Ultimate Galactus. Made more sense that a huge guy in a purple skirt who snacks on planets.
Having said that, I did really like the fact that Galactus ate the Skrull homeworld, in Marvel's regular continuity.

Hunger #1 was actually pretty good. The only downside is that I think this and Cataclysm are going to result in Ultimate filth inhabiting the 616.
Hunger was easy enough to pick up and read though, not having read anything 'Ultimate' since shortly after the whole concept launched.

So is Galactus going to eat the Ultimate Earth? That is the million dollar question, I think. Good way to finish off the Ultimate concept and demonstrate that Galactus is actually serious about eating inhabited planets.

I dunno. Issue two was stupid. Galactus finally arrived at the Ultimate earth in the last page.
...if he doesn't succeed in eating the planet, I'm going to be pissed.

No more Reed Richards saves the Earth shit! I want to see Ultimate Reed on 616, a broken man in the knowledge that he failed to save his planet from that big purple son-of-a-bitch!

It would be a full on joygasm to watch Reed lose it...but I don't want to see Ultimate anyone on the 616. At all.
...thus my desire for Galactus to consume the fucking planet. Whole. With everyone.

The whole "Reed is fucked up" thing has become as much a cliche as "Reed saves the world" was.

I stopped caring about reworkings of the Reed Richards/Galactus clash back when Byrne was still doing the series (1981-1986).
Of Byrne's otherwise outstanding run, the lowest point was the "Trial of Reed Richards" storyline.
My favorite Silver Surfer/Galactus story is still the NOT BRAND ECCH parody I mentioned.
Well, y'know... some of those Lee/Kirby FF stories were pretty cool too...

http://www.newsarama.com/18685-what-we-learned-from-marvel-s-november-2013-solicitations.htmlMILES MORALES to the Marvel Universe Yes, Cataclysm is beginning in earnest in November, with the heroes of the Ultimate Universe teaming up against the Galactus from the regular “616” Marvel Universe. But man, oh man, does that bury the lead. After the walls of reality weakened – and even broke – with the end of Age of Ultron, we soon found out Galactus was headed to the Ultimate U. But the last line of Cataclysm: The Ultimates Last Stand #2’s solicitation is the real kicker: “MILES MORALES is headed to the Marvel Universe.” Some have speculated that the Ultimate Universe could end with this big crossover event, and the clues are stacking up. No standard issues of the Ultimate comics are solicited this month, just the first of three-issue mini-series that are linked to Cataclysm. The writer-artist team of Cataclysm, Brian Bendis and Mark Bagley, were the team who started this universe, with Ultimate Spider-Man. And now, we know that Miles Morales, by far the most important/high profile character to come out of the Ultimate U, is making a trip to the Marvel Universe – is it a one-way trip? We only have a few more months to find out for sure. *** Who the fuck is Miles Morales?

Yeah, I figured that Miles was going to survive the end of the Ultimate verse.
As long as he's alone in crossing over, I'm still satisfied. I don't give a flying fuck who's in the Spider-man suit. Spider-man is a shit character all around.

I thought there was a "death of Ultimate Spider-man" sotry a while back...?
If anyone gets saves it should be Ultimate Falcon. Much better than 616 Falcon.

If anyone gets saves it should be Ultimate Falcon. Much better than 616 Falcon. I think that's what led to Miles, actually. Ultimate Peter died, and some other kid took his place. He's apearently popular. But I don't want Ultimate anyone. I like Sam as he is. He's key to Steve's whole mythos. People always say they prefer Ultimate Falcon, but I'd rather we just keep regular old 616 Sam.

According to this: "Despite the early excitement, Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man is not a huge hit in the direct market." The writer goes on to make an "affirmative action" argument that Miles should be kept but, if anything, that undercuts the notion that Miles is "quite popular." Were that the case, the affirmative action argument would seem unnecessary.

I really can't say for certain myself what the numbers are. I do know fans express a lot of love for him on the CBR forums where I frequent now. I'm basing my opinion only on that. At the end of the day, I don't really care either way. I'm no fan of Spider-man, no matter who's wearing the suit.

Rob isn't gay?
Huh.
I went to a comic shop today (didn't buy anything) and saw a comic entitled "Hunger" with Galactus on the cover. I'm assuming this title is vehicle for the story...
I have to admit, I am intrigued by the premise, simply because the Earth has had too many improbable near misses with Galactus. If it turns out Galactus does consume Ultimate Earth, I'd buy the story. (I liked reading somewhere that Galactus consumed the Skrull Homeworld, although I haven't read the story of it - it means he does actually deliver on the catastrophic threat he represents.)
