Can't see that, my plug-in's plugged out. Buuut, there was a book in July's Previews written by a plainclothes horror host. Sounded intriguing, but I was running up too many $ already what with the Kirby book and all.

The scariest name that dude could think to use was 'Sammy Terry'?

It tends to put you immediately at a disadvantage and IMO is a sign of true weakness.

I grew up watching the horror hosts out of Syracuse, Baron Daemon and Dr. Witty.

Dr. Witty was an early introduction to me about the artiface of television and the low budgets employed by most local stations, when I realized that the doctor's Igorish assistant "Epal," was the same actor who played kindly old "Salty Sam," the host of the local afternoon (and Saturday AM) kiddie show that ran old "Mr Magoo" and "Bugs Bunny" shorts.

It was something called Horror Incorporated for me. I just remember a hand peeking out of coffin starting to opening it at the beginning & closing the coffin at the end of the movie. Lame but it was just cool getting to stay up really late with the whole family. Pocorn & lemonade would be made & sometimes a game of something if the movie was really bad.

I love how after he introduces himself they have the caption "Samuel Terry: Ghoul"

I grew up with a show called "Tales From the Darkside" that my sister would watch at midnight when we were little girls. The show itself was cool, and I never forgot the intro:

No host in a bad costume, just a simple scene that changes and the voice over - the whole thing was creepy as hell. Still kinda is.

Dear, sweet Harley Kwink...I'm madly in love with you. Marry me! We can go to Canadia. Or Boston or something. It'll be grand...You know the cookies are a given. They are ALWAYS a given. You could dump me tomorrow and you'd still get the cookies. Boston..shit, wherever dyke weddings were legalized. And where better to rub their little piggie noses in how bad they suck than right on their doorstep? What are they gonna do? Be jealous of you? Stare furiously at your tah-tahs? Not willingly give you cookies, but instead begrudgingly give you their cookies? Woman, time to wake up to the powers you wield - Uschi
