I hated the faux Ally McBeal stuff but the effects looked decent and the actress playing Kara was quite good.

Cute. My pre-teen daughters will love it. they're clearly the target demographic.

The pilot was fun.
You can defo see its made by the same team as Arrow and Flash.
It does take the more light hearted tones of Flash and lighten them even more, but thats pretty much what people want from Supergirl.

Whoa whoa whoa! Jimmy Olsen is black!? What, did he use the "black for a day" machine and set the timer wrong?

Secondary mutation. Primary mutation was telepathy.
Posted By: Nöwheremän Re: Supergirl - 2015-05-29 9:58 PM
Its the new rule. Every superhero movie or tv show must now turn a traditionally white character black.

Why is it that every time they create a preview for a chick flick, the girl mangles her sentences with plucky-cum-nerdy timidity? Why can't she just be a competent, easy-to-understand, and well-balanced individual?

Answer: Joss Whedon

Anyway, looks like shit.

Because then she wouldn't be a woman.

The first one you can have. The rest are impossible.

Jeb Bush says she's hot http://moviepilot.com/posts/3613822?lt_source=external,manual

 Quote:
CBS series Supergirl debuted last night with actress Melissa Benoist as the title character. But, while the show marks a triumphant return of a TV series centering around a female superhero (the likes of which haven't really been seen since the 1970s series Wonder Woman), its star was also the target of some rather questionable comments made by presidential candidate Jeb Bush. Luckily for Bush, Benoist was able to show a little more diplomacy in her response.

During a Q&A in Las Vegas last Wednesday, Bush was asked by an audience member to name his favorite superhero. While the question might seem odd to ask of presidential hopeful, the 62-year-old former Governor quickly launched into his response:

"I kind of like the old-school guys, like Batman. Supergirl is on TV – I saw that when I was working out this morning. There’s an ad promoting Supergirl. She looked pretty hot. I don’t know what channel it’s on, but I’m looking forward to that."
While his comments are enough to make anyone cringe, luckily for Bush, Benoist, who appeared on CBS This Morning on Monday, took the high road with her response. Talking about the comments, the 27-year-old responded:

"I heard about it...You know, I don’t know what to think about it."
Though, true to making the best of a weird situation, Benoist added that she was at least "glad he’s excited to watch the show."

My daughter liked it. The lighter tone of the show was fine & she did a pretty good job as Supergirl, but the rest of it was kind of "meh" for me but then again I'm pretty sure I'm not the target audience & that's ok.

The target audience is little girls like Lothar.

It's several seasons in now. I actually won a Blu-Ray of season 1 of the series, answering questions for a radio station. I never heard of it before then. It's a bit two-dimensional and comic-booky, but I still enjoyed it.

And I don't think they could possibly have picked a more beautiful girl to play Supergirl. The black Jimmy Olsen was a bit too PC for me. So I watched season 1. After that... I've seen enough.

i've go no problems with a black Jimmy Olsen but at least make him more Urkel than Idris Elba. Jimmy's supposed to be a nerd, not a stud.
Posted By: Wonder Boy Re: Supergirl - 2019-01-03 7:59 PM

Well, it was kind of funny to me that absolutely no one on the series had a problem with Supergirl lusting after and dating a black Jimmy. Including her mom. "Ohh, you're dating a black guy, wow, that's great!" Yeah, that happens frequently.

I liked 30 years ago how John Byrne updated Jimmy Olsen, but still left him a nerd.

Again, whatever the shortcomings, I don't think they could have possibly selected a more beautiful girl for the role. She's a prom queen of a Supergirl.

Posted By: Wonder Boy Re: Supergirl - 2019-01-15 3:04 PM

And yet she still comes across as super sweet and girl-next-door. Whatever faults the show has, none of them come from picking her.

Wow, Melissa Benoist posing with Lynda Carter!

Apparently she divorced her husband of 2 years in Dec 2017 and is now in a relationship with Chris Wood, the guy who plays Mon-El in the series (and on Flash, and probably at some point Arrow).

More nice photos of her with the article.

I thought all girls liked Lothar.

I stopped watching the show because it's mostly a soap opera and has little to do with Supergirl.

She was one of the celebrity women who had her nude selfies leaked out during "the Fappening" a few years ago. IIRC her photos were pretty explicit.

Apparently someone hacked her cloud photo account to get her personal pictures. And yeah, these photos are as explicit as it gets.

Hollywood is Sodom and Gomorrah. The whole industry needs to turn into salt. It's abnormal that society gave entertainers so much power that they could rival world leaders in influence and wealth.

But I hope they release Doctor Strange 2 and the Netflix Sandman series first before they do the whole salt thing.
