Warner Bros. revealed the three DC Universe Original Movies that will be released in 2016, including an adaptation of the classic Joker story, Batman: The Killing Joke.

Batman: The Killing Joke is the seminal graphic novel written by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland that offers up a potential (but not exactly trustworthy) origin for the Joker, and that led to a paralyzed Barbara Gordon to retire as Batgirl…temporarily. For years, it’s been one of the most regularly requested animated films by fans.

The animated adaptation of Batman: The Killing Joke is executive produced by Bruce Timm and will retell this classic tale in an exciting new way. It’ll also feature an original 15-minute prologue that helps set up the story, giving even longtime fans of the story something new to look forward to.
I wonder if the prologue will be a retelling of Death in the Family with Joker finishing off Jason Todd.

If, as they say, the prologue is "original," that would seem to eliminate a retelling of "DitF."

Also, one might think that story's famous enough to warrant its own movie at some point.

Looks like Mark Hamill's playing the joker again: http://www.comicbookresources.com/articl...joke-adaptation

Be nice if they got Conroy for Batman now

CBR reports that Conroy and Hamill are both in.
Meh. It was a good story, but I think it gets way more attention than it deserves. It wasn't that great.

You aren't that great...

Best part of The Killing Joke (aside from it giving SJWs total fits despite that fact that it is thirty fucking years old) is the layout. The way some scenes mirror each other really brings the story alive. It stands up over time fairly well, but I can get the people who feel it has been hyped up as more than it really is.

That said...Conroy and Hamill. So fuck you, Lothar!

Let's not forget the Joker raped Barbara Gordon.

Cuz he did.

In all honesty though, they're probably gonna fuck this shit up.

Odds are, at the end of the day, Barbara's not gonna be shot--let alone crippled.

Or raped.

More likely, SJW writers are going to give her a Bat-Strapon so she can rape him.

A bat-strap on? They've finally started making those?
(giggle)
Sincerely,

Don't feel like going through the trouble of Copy/Pasting source material from the phone, but apparently, Barbara Gordon is getting a "larger role" in the Killing Joke.

Who told you so? I told you so.

I can hope, however that, "larger role" simply means the rape scene is going to last longer and be more graphically visceral.

I agree, it gets way more acclaim than it deserves.

Alan Moore's SWAMP THING, MIRACLEMAN, WATCHMEN, V FOR VENDETTA, SUPERMAN ANNUAL, ANYTHING GOES # 2, MR MONSTER 3, D.R AND QUINCH, FROM HELL and many other shorter works are worthy of Moore's reputation. KILLING JOKE is not.

Likewise the BATMAN ANNUAL out around the same time, with Clayface was also a dud that got way more praise than it deserved.

That's what your mom said!

Anyone heard the speculation that the studio will bow to the SJWs and rewrite the stuff with Babs to make it less "mysogynistic"?
Posted By: Pariah Re: The Killing Joke animated movie - 2016-04-04 2:34 PM
Mary Sue is kind of making the claim without outright stating it.

It's perfectly believable Though. I have no doubt that DC/CW will butcher the original story to cater to feminazi agendas. Just ask the guy who drew the 'crying Batgirl' cover.

The reality here is that the money stemming from superheroes is derived from franchises and not from the actual serials/cartoons. That's why Didio and friends can get away with turning the Bat-books into a PC nightmare with resurrections and retcons that favor feminist/LGBT/racial "diversity" despite a blowback in sales: the so-called "milestone issues" serve as a prelude for huge budget films and TV series', the sales of which eclipse any possible income from a monthly book.

Does anyone know Uschi's Twitter or other similar faggy social media accounts? I'm curious to know whether or not she'd approve of this at this point in her life since she went bull-dyke.
