Anton Yelchin, the Russian-born actor who played Chekov in the new Star Trek films, has been killed by his own car at his home in Los Angeles, police say.

Holy shit, that sucks.

I actually liked the Fright Night remake and thought he did a good job.

The real shitty thing is that this was a known issue and Chrysler issued a recall.

I just ran across his obituary again. To die so young at 28, and what a bizarre way to die, when he clearly had many years of a very good life still ahead of him.

About 15 years ago a neighbor had that happen, I ran across the street and sslowed the SUV before it could pick up too much momentum, which probably prevented it from crashing through the front bedroom of another neighbor's house.
