Should have come back earlier
We’ve lost our “old man” Llance
Bless him
It's true..
https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/james-mccane-obituary?id=23837977I didn't interact with him much but he seemed like a cool guy. I also remember the whole wildcat nation thing many years ago when we came to these boards for help.
Found this thread where he announced he had cancer a few years ago:

Ah. Mxy dropped me a line about this on Twitter when it happened. I asked him to send a condolence message to his family from me. I described his oddball sense of humour as thoroughly endearing.
There's some sort of searchable database of comics which includes letter columns. It turns out our old friend Llance was a prolific letter column writer in the 70s and 80s.
Llance was a good guy. I think everyone here liked him. RIP.
Sexy bitch sweat in his sleep. THAT pic should be up in every forum here!
Has BSAMS dug up his penis yet?
Enjoyed hanging out with him at the Chicago Con. Dang, that sucks.
Also the Superman Man of Tomorrow Archive Volume 1 that I purchased from him on eBay in 2007 is still resting on my shelf with my others, including four that I purchased from Pig Iron the same year. I'll make sure they always have a good home.
.
Man... I liked Llance, what a loss.
I remember him even on the DC message boards, back when Rob was moderator of those boards, and Llance would create all kinds of fun topics, such as "Famous Lines from Batman stories that are improved by substituting the word 'underpants' ".
I applied that concept to re-writing the opening lines of O'Neil / Adams' "Secret of the Waiting Graves" in DETECTIVE 395.
Llance had a playful sense of humor that was always welcome, either on DCMB's, or here on RKMB's.
Llance lives on in his RKMB posts.
I dug up a link from his profile :

Really sad to see that Lance passed away.
