Hulk Hogan's Son Injured in Car Crash
By Associated Press

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The son of professional wrestler Hulk Hogan was seriously injured in a car crash Sunday night, police said.

A Toyota Supra driven by Nick Bollea was traveling at a high rate of speed at approximately 7:30 p.m., Clearwater Police spokesman Wayne Shelor said. Bollea, which is Hogan's real name, lost control and hit a raised median. The car flipped around, and the back end hit a palm tree.

"The car was destroyed," Shelor said.

Bollea and an unidentified male passenger were extricated from the car by paramedics, Shelor said. Then they were airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Their official conditions were not immediately available, but Shelor described the injuries of both men as serious.

The crash occurred on State Route 60, a main drag through downtown Clearwater. The road had to be shut down in both directions for several hours, Shelor said.

Alcohol is not believed to have played a part in the crash. The crash seems to have been caused by excessive speed, Shelor said.

Bollea appears on the reality TV show "Hogan Knows Best" with his father, mother and sister.
In a statment to the press, Hulk Hogan's placed the blame of the accident on devil worshipping.

Hogan wants to wrestle the median at the next PPV, but WWE won't put up the $40 million he wants for the match.

Linda Hogan issued the following statement to gossip web site, TMZ.com in regards to the car accident that her son Nick Hogan was involved in yesterday.

"My son Nick and a friend were involved in a car accident last night. Nick suffered minor injuries and has been treated and released from the hospital. At this time, his friend, John Graziano remains hospitalized. Nick is currently at the hospital with John and his family. His sole concern is for the well being of his friend. On behalf of my family, we ask that your thoughts and prayers be with John and his loved ones."

I can see the trial now. Just when the kid's lawyer has the case almost wrapped up and about to walk away with millions, Hogan will raise his fist into the air, wave his finger, shake his head, and start to slowly stand up from his feet. He will then cup his finger to his ear to hear the jury chant for him. Then, he'll do the same to the judge, who will bang his gavel and dismiss the case.

Nicely played...

Hogan will also grab the plantiff, look at the jury and ask "Should I?", then the judge, then his lawyer, the plantiff's lawyer, the baliff, back to the jury, and then, once every single person in the courtroom gives him permission, THEN, the series of punches, the mighty boot, finishing with the legdrop for the win.

I dunno if its just a optical illusion, but the hood looks like its actually been propped open.
Its almost like someone said "Brotha, ya gotta check the engine is ok!"

Maybe the car was on steroids and they had to remove the evidence!

A witness to a car crash that critically injured a passenger in Hulk Hogan's son's vehicle said that before the accident the cars involved were racing.

The Associated Press reported that a registered nurse from Plant City, Fla., said she saw 17-year-old Nick Bollea's Toyota Supra and a Dodge Viper "revving their engines and racing between traffic signals" Sunday night in Clearwater. Then she said she saw Hogan's son -- Bollea -- "smash his Supra into a median and spin into a palm tree."

The AP reported that a Bayfront Medical Center spokeswoman said Bollea's passenger, 22-year-old John J. Graziano of Dunedin, remained in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center.

Police are still investigating the accident, but they said excessive speed contributed to the crash.

While Hogan is used to the limelight, other members of his family have gotten their share of it lately through VH1's "Hogan Knows Best" reality show.

John J. Graziano, the 22-year-old front-seat passenger in Hogan Knows Best co-star Nick Hogan's Toyota Supra when it crashed Sunday evening, remained in critical condition late Tuesday morning, ABC's Tampa Bay affiliate WFTS-TV reported.

Police allege Nick Bollea, the 17-year-old son of wrestling star Terrence "Hulk Hogan" Bollea, was speeding in a Toyota Supra around 7:30PM on Sunday in Clearwater, FL when he lost control and hit a raised median, spinning the vehicle and causing its rear end to strike a palm tree.

While Nick was released from the hospital yesterday, Graziano's grandmother Catherine told The Tampa Tribune her grandson may have suffered brain damage from the crash, which required medial personnel to use the Jaws of Life to extract both passengers from the vehicle. Catherine said she learned of her grandson's physical well-being during a phone conversation with John's father while looking for a flight to Tampa on Monday.

According to The Tribune, John is a Marine who recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq.

"To come home from Iraq and for this to happen," Catherine told The Tribune.

Eyewitnesses alleged they spotted Nick's Toyota Supra racing a silver Dodge Viper prior to the accident, however The Tribune reported Nick has not been charged as of this time and there has been "no immediate evidence" suggesting he was street racing or "drifting," a driving technique that involves swerving sideways around tight corners.

"Everything that happened [on Sunday night] was because of excessive speed," Clearwater police spokesman Wayne Shelor told The Tribune. "When the car hit, it largely exploded or disintegrated."

Driving at high speeds certainly fits the young Hogan's MO.

He has received three speeding tickets in the last year, according to Florida state driving records obtained by TMZ. Last September, he was ticketed for driving 105 MPH in a 70 MPH zone in Collier County. In February, he was cited for driving 57 MPH in a 30 MPH zone in Dade County. In April, he was ticketed for driving 106 MPH in a 70 MPH zone in Osceola County.

According to the St. Petersburg Times, Pinellas Park, FL police also cited Nick for a fourth speeding offense on August 10 -- a 82 MPH in a 45 MPH zone violation that, due to its pending court status, does not yet appear on his state record. The Hogan Knows Best co-star is reportedly due to appear in court on September 10 for the Pinellas Park offense, which took place in a construction zone that had workers present.

The Tribune also reported Nick's an "accomplished drifter" who is certified to give demonstrations at different amateur events.

"He's been around and doing this for a couple of years," Tampa drift-race organizer Chris Tyler told The Tribune. "He's just there for the fun of it. He does it for the love of the sport... In person, he's a really good kid."

John Graziano the passenger in Nick Hogan's August car crash has reportedly suffered permanent brain damage and sadly must remain in a nursing home for the rest of his life.

His parents, who are estranged are currently battling it out in court over who should get his guardianship.

Nick Hogan isn't quite out of the dry and could still face criminal charges following the outcome of the investigation. Strangely all sources indicate that the Grazianos and the Hogans remain close.

yeah, they remain close for now. wait till the Grazianos start askin for money. . .

From tampatrib.com:

ST. PETERSBURG - A Pinellas County circuit judge today gave the mother of John Graziano temporary guardianship of her young Marine son, critically injured in a car crash while wrestler Hulk Hogan's son was at the wheel.

Probate Judge Lauren Laughlin also granted a continuance of the guardianship hearing as Graziano's father, Edward, had requested. No date has been set for the hearing to determine who will be the permanent guardian, but it is expected to be held within 60 days.

After closing the hearing for 45 minutes to hear about John Graziano's medical condition, the judge said there was "clear and convincing" evidence that he is incapacitated and unable to make decisions on his own.

As emergency temporary guardian, Debra Graziano will be empowered to make decisions about the medical care and veterans benefits of her 22-year-old son, who served in Iraq.

"If I had a situation where I was in critical condition like that, I would want my mother to make the decisions rather than some person coming from the outside who doesn't know me and doesn't love me,'' George Tragos, Debra Graziano's attorney, said after the hearing.

Tragos also hinted at the likelihood of a lawsuit against the Hogan family in the interests of John Graziano's long-term care.

"I think that any guardian would pursue a civil suit," Tragos said. "That goes without saying.''

Tragos did not know whether John Graziano had a will and power of attorney drawn up, as is typically the case when service members are deployed overseas. He said the Department of Veterans Affairs, which has been paying for his medical care, wants Graziano moved to a VA hospital.

Graziano has been in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg since Aug. 26, when he was injured while riding in a Toyota Supra driven by friend Nick Bollea, Hogan's 17-year-old son. Hogan's real name is Terry Bollea.

Clearwater police have referred the case to the Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney's Office, which will decide whether to file charges against Bollea, possibly by next month.

Attorneys for Graziano's father, Edward, who is estranged from his wife, unsuccessfully sought to have an independent, professional guardian appointed.

Steven Hearn, a Tampa lawyer who said he was retained nine days ago, told the judge he needed more time to prepare for the hearing. Hearn also said he wanted the additional time to investigate his client's concerns that his wife is receiving financial support from Bollea's family.

Hearn said they have been paying for her living arrangements at a condominium or town house in Clearwater. She previously stayed at a hotel, also paid for by Bollea's family.

Bollea's family initially paid some of Edward Graziano's hotel expenses shortly after the accident, "but that was cut off shortly afterward and since then he's not received anything at all," Hearn said.

The Bolleas were subpoenaed to appear at the hearing, Hearn said, but they did not show up.

From myfoxtampabay.com:

CLEARWATER - More than two months after speeding through the streets of Clearwater, Nick Bollea -- better known to some as Nick Hogan, the son of professional wrestler Hulk Hogan -- has been arrested in connection with the violent crash that left a passenger fighting for his life.

It was back on August 26 when Nick's yellow Toyota Supra veered out of control and slammed backwards into a palm tree on Court Street in Clearwater. The 17-year-old was not badly hurt, but passenger John Graziano -- a 22-year-old Marine combat veteran -- had to be cut from the car and remains hospitalized.

Wednesday, Clearwater police issued a warrant for Nick on felony charges of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury. He turned himself in just before 10 a.m.

In the days after the accident, officers and witnesses both told FOX 13 that speed seemed to be a factor in the crash. But detectives took their time conducting the investigation, and the state attorney's office did not file charges until now.

This morning's arrest report included new details about the crash. Detectives believe Nick was racing a second vehicle before the crash at speeds of over 60 mph though the 40-mph zone, which was wet from recent rains.

While investigators concluded that the actions of the other car's driver were not a contributing factor in the crash, that driver, Daniel Jacobs, is being issued a summons to appear in court for reckless driving charges.

Police also cited Nick for having a blood alcohol level of .02 or higher. Any BAC above 0.00 would be illegal for the 17-year-old.

The allegations of racing, even before today's arrest, were not a surprise to those who knew Nick as a racer who enjoyed drifting, a style of driving that involves high-speed skidding and sliding.

Nick talked about his need for speed in a pre-crash interview with Rides Magazine. He described a trip from Miami to Tampa during which he was pulled over three times for driving over 100 miles an hour, though he was not actually cited until the third time.

In April, Nick was ticketed for speeding 107 mph in Osceola County. And two weeks before the Clearwater crash, Nick was pulled over in Pinellas Park. Officers scolded him for driving 82 in a 45-mph zone.

At the time of the crash, Nick was driving with a restricted license that only allowed him to drive during the day. Graziano, a former member of Nick's racing pit crew, was in the passenger seat but not wearing a seat belt.

In a post-arrest statement released through a showbiz rep, the Bollea family reiterated that fact.

"The tragedy to both families is compounded by the fact that unfortunately John was not wearing his seatbelt," the statement to TMZ.com said. "Thankfully, Nick was wearing his. Because of what happened to John, the entire Bollea family will make it a priority to increase public awareness about the importance of always wearing your seatbelt."

Through their attorney, the Graziano family has said they are considering a lawsuit against the Bolleas. John is said to have suffered severe brain injuries and will likely require specialized care for the rest of his life.
