I recently filled out a few gaps in my Don Newton DETECTIVE COMICS run, and this was revealed in DETECTIVE 501-502.
Way back before he was Bruce Wayne's butler, he was a British commando in World War II France, where he and Mlle. Marie (a French resistance fighter) had a shared adventure, and hooked up. Decades later, this story was done (April and May 1981) that revealed they had a daughter out of that union.
All right Alfred!
Mademoiselle Marie is a DC war character who began appearing in STAR SPANGLED WAR STORIES with issue 84 (August 1959).
I first saw her in an 80-page giant SGT. ROCK'S PRIZE BATTLE TALES, that featured just about all of DC's recurring war characters at the time.
Shortly after Knightfall there was a story about Alfred having a kid he didn't know about. I stopped reading Bat books about that time so I don't know where they went with that story.
Alfred really gets around!
Anything to prove he doesn't live up to his last name. I suppose.
Pennyworth.
With all those illegitimate kids to provide for, maybe Penniless.
But obviously not Penisless!
Please stop talking about Alfred's junk.
Alfred's wingman, Batman!
