This article started off as a marketing gag to graphic designers I work with telling them to steer away from the boring corporate designs used for fictional companies in comics and manga.

It sort of evolved into an investment review as I tried to work out what each company would be worth. The comic books generally don't say and it seemed even the guy at Forbes, who valued Wayne Enterprises over Stark Industries and Oscorp, was pulling figures out of his arse.

I couldn't think of any other companies but if you know of any let me know so I can do a second edition for next year. ARGUS (DC) is government, as it turns out, and NERV (Neo Genesis Evangelion) is a UN agency. Kord Industries is described in Wikipedia as being absorbed into Wayne Enterprises (I assume after Ted Kord was shot dead by Maxwell Lord).
I was thinking about the X-Men, where do they get their funding? (during the Xavier days. I tried to look it up now and saw that the current X-men and can't make sense of things. Two teams, two cyclops, one from the past and the other dead. X-23 and Sabretooth taking turns to replace Wolverine, who is now dead but replaced by a future version, etc. etc.)
Xavier is a creepy old rich guy. He dresses up young kids in uniforms, tries to injure them in a "Danger Room", and then gets them to try and beat up his former best friend.
The problem with investing in Wayne industries is that the technology seems to get stolen a lot and then used by bat-vigilantes.

not only is that a potential drain in the inventory, but the trial lawyers are surely readying their "forseeable injury" briefs as we speak.
Isn't Stark tech frequently stolen by other people as well? At least Wayne enterprises doesn't have tech that can open portals to the negative zone.

But Stark tend to hunt down the thieves.

For some odd reason, Bruce Wayne seems almost indifferent to his tech being stolen by, ahem, bat vigilantes.

And with enough prep time, Wayne tech can open a hole to the negative zone.
Ohhh....point.
