The town of Paradise, CA, population 26,500 people.
71 dead and many more missing.
At least 9,800 homes destroyed. In this one fire 90% of the town was destroyed.
And worst of all, these people were burned alive. About the most horrible way someone could die.

Unlike a hurricane or tornado, there was no advance warning that this fire could happen, to allow these people to prepare and evacuate. Wild, scary stuff.
This was calculated. Despite what they say about this being a "Campfire", this was murder.

For what purpose?

Do you mean it amounts to murder because it could be prevented?
Or do you mean this was deliberately orchestrated to kill people?

Pacific Gas and Electric (P G & E) is having rolling blackouts right now over the next few weeks, to prevent the kind of fires that destroyed this town a year ago.

Liberals are hoping that the lost productivity, estimated at roughly a 3% loss annually (as estimated based on similar outage losses in South Africa during its deficit-caused blackouts), will cause enough of an economic loss to hurt Trump's re-election chances. Good luck with that.
I think it's precisely that maliciousness and lack of regard for the middle class and poor in that mentality that will get Trump re-elected in a landslide.

Gavin Newsom commented he wants Trump impeached, but he can't even contain the chaos going on in his own state. Perhaps that's where Newsom should direct his energies.

California governor Gavin Newsom, by the way, is facing a recall petition (2 actually) that are getting widespread support.
