Brock Lesnar has made it official that he will be leaving WWE following WrestleMania XX. He announced his decision at the Smackdown talent meeting last night at the TV taping. The real story is that Lesnar also told the crew he is now going to pursue a career in the NFL

Brock Lesnar... Defensive End?!

Or maybe a linebacker. He seems fast enough.

Wow, this seems crazy. Usually, it's the other way around. I'd like to see if any real offers come up and which teams are interested.

Is this an early April Fool's joke?

Sorry, but he's got no shot. The dude didn't even play football in college, and if he had, it would've only been at Northern State University. He turns 27 in July, and somehow would have to change his conditioning from a wrestler's to a football player's(they aren't even close to the same thing).

If he actually quits wrestling, I really hope he enjoys the af2, because that's as far as he'll be getting.

And that's terrible.

This does make ya wonder who will win in the match between him and Goldberg, though. I mean, if they're both going to be leaving, if I were in charge, I'd figure that I might as well have the face win and give the fans a little something to be happy about.

He's 6'4 295, which means he could play DT or DE. Definitely don't see him as a linebacker, though.

Kristo brings up an interesting point. Why didn't he play football in college? I've seen guys that have never even heard of football get scholarships just for being his size. A friend of mine that hadn't played football since the 4th grade is going to Baylor(a shitty team, but a Big 12 team) on a scholarship.

He was a wrestler in college. An NCAA champion. He could've gotten a football scholarship to a smaller school, but not Minnesota...

Don't know if I agree. The only place that he signed a football scholarship with was "Northern State University," which I believe is in one of the Dakotas, and he went to a juco first before going to Minnesota for wrestling.

This little tidbit about Torrie and Sable's fight at Smackdown seems to support it:

Quote:

Sable and Torrie Wilson were involved in a backstage screaming match that went on for at least a half hour. The two women were heard yelling at each other backstage by anyone who walked by their room and it eventually spilled over into Jim Ross’ office with both JR and production guy Dominick trying to break it up. As best as I can tell, it all started at some Playboy party that the women attended last weekend.

One of the big questions in the locker room is how this will affect Sable, since she is Brock’s significant other. The running joke backstage was Brock would only be allowed to play for a team that allowed Sable to be a cheerleader. Sable was said to be not at all happy backstage yesterday, but not just due to Brock’s announcement. I will have more on that story later today.

I'll bet this is one of those fake announcements that are anonomously "leaked" to the internet press every now and then to make them look like idiots.

Nah he was engaged but he spit with his fiance over a year ago (although by all accounts she is giving him a lot of trouble).
He apparently started seeing Sable a year ago, just after she split from Mero.

Rumour has it that he is selling off a load of stuff as well, such as the jet he bought for flying to WWE shows!

He has not been popular backstage recently as he is always moaning & has complained that he should not have fought Hardcore Holly on the South African tour as Holly is not high profile enough!
Also it is rumoured that when Undertaker demolishes Kane he was then to demolish Lesnar next & work his way through the SD heel roster but Lesnar said it was wrong to feed him to Taker which hasnt gone down too well as Taker was one of the guys fed to Lesnar when he first joined the company!
Lesnar had made a name for himself already by destroying the likes of The Rock,Hogan,The Hardys etc,but it was defeating Undertaker in a cell in a hell (Takers speciality) that really made people go "Holy shit, this guy really is the next big thing!"

Biggest problem I see coming from this is it leaves the Smackdown roster very weak as most of the main eventers are on Raw.
All SD will be left with is Taker,Big Show (who wants time off after WM to get his knees fixed but its believed he wont be allowed),Eddie & Angle.
Hopefully Cena will be pushed up to that top step as well!

That's also assuming Angle's neck holds up.

I don't remember Hall beating Goldberg. Hall used a cattle prod, I think, to cause Berg to lose to Kevin Nash at Starrcade '98. Goldberg then beat Hall in a cattle prod match or something like that at the next PPV...and Nash dropped the title he felt Goldberg wasn't worthy of via the Fingerpoke of Doom.

And that's terrible.

There is now a rumour Goldturd will stay & be on SD.
Its believed that his friendship with Austin & the potential to be the top face on the show have swayed him.
There is very little to substantiate it but its something else to consider!

my two cents on this matter...

let's see both goldberg and brock are both leaving the WWE after WrestleMania XX....either they are gonna have one heck of a feud or Austin is going to be more focused somehow...maybe laying them both out and saying he 'ended their careers'...

also...with brock going to the NFL i know the perfect number he can wear four his jersey. "F5"...

that's all

does anyone know if any team has even expressed remote interest?

the "you sold out" chants don't really make sense until brock has something to be bought by.

There were rumours about a team called The Vikings (sorry,it aint my sport so I dunno who they are) but the team manager or coach has flat out denied there is any interest!

Well with Lesnar he signed a seven year contract so I'd guess that him quitting early would leave him in a position where he is obligated to make some compromises,as for Goldturd, although his contract has now expired,I would assume the contract he had would have included merchandising rights for WWE,including figures,so even though his contract has now expired, the figures were probably part of that contract!

I doubt anyone's going to draft a 27 year old who didn't even play football in college. If Lesnar's going to somehow make it to the NFL, he'll have to have some private workouts then sign for the minimum. If anyone's interested.

I agree I dont think he'll be drafted, but dont you have to make yourself available for the draft, then if nobody drafts you, you can go to try outs and try to get a spot? I mean if this wasnt the case why would anyone declare for the draft, when you could choose what teams you wanted to try out for?

Because in most cases the order in which you were drafted will dictate the amount of your first contract.......as an undrafted free-agent you will only get the minimum.

it may but i didnt think the NFL has a rookie pay scale based on draft position, i was sure there was a controversy a couple years ago because mike brown was offering his number 1 pick less than the number 2 got....

also almost everyone not in the first round gets the minimum, so why do all those guys enter the draft that are obvious 2nd and 3rd rounders?
