I'll play along. With complete editorial freedom in terms of story and concepts, I'd love to see:

Grant Morrison/John Cassady (or JG Jones): JLA

Grant's Marvel Boy mini was great! And, when the editors let him run with the ball (as in the early parts of his New XMen and JLA runs), he comes up with concepts that are (at the very least) interesting. And I love the clean, detailed styles of those artists...

Im currently getting my dream shit. Jim Lee, Mike Turner and Joe Madueira are my favirite artists. I'm a fan of Jeph Loebs writing and huge geek over the Big 3. So I shit myself over Loeb/Lee Batman and am currently shitting over Loeb/ Turner's Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman.

So not too far off that I'd love to see a Loeb/Lee JLA or even a Loeb/Madueira JLA. That'd be fucking sweet.

Oh jeez. This is a tough one......

Alright, after careful consideration.........Brian K. Vaughn/Jim Balent on Batman.

Does anybody know if Balent has done Joker, and if he has, can you direct me to the pic?

I was hooked on Turner's art when I saw the preview pages for Supes/Bats #8. Other than Flash and Identity Crisis, what else is he doing...or has he done?

I first found Turner when the Witchblade series started. the first 10-20 issues has his penciling in it. He then left to start his own book Fathom. If you can find it, he did an asskicking mini that x-over Witchblade/Fathom/Tomb Raider. He recently started his own company and is kinda doing a book featuring the Fathom character Aspen. And well the books called Aspen.

Hope this helps.

Does Madueira even do comics anymore???

Frankly, I hope he never draws another book again after he pissed on every single fan of his (myself, at the time, included). Or am I those only one who remembers the neverending wait for the next Battle Chasers before his rush-job ending of the storyline and subsequent "cancellation" of the title? Maybe I imagined the two Wizard articles that gave us, in words and pictures, the figurative "Fuck You" from Joe.

1) The tour of Mad's studio, complete with Playstation adn every other distraction an Image artist needs to not get the job done.

2) "The Joe Madueira Project", where the writer tries to "track down" the "mysteriously missing" (from the comic book scene) artist, only to find Joe at home. Joe's reason for being so late with his books was, to paraphrase: "I'm doing a lot of other things that are more important right now, like video game art and stuff. I'll get back to Battle Chasers some day. But right now, there's a lot more stuff I wanna do. Just wait, though, and I'll get back to comics at some point. Maybe."

Fuck Madueira. Fuck him right in his stupid ass.

I'm really enjoying Gail Somone's writing on Birds of Prey, so all it needs now is for Greg Land to come back as the artist. Cover and interior art.

And let's not forget the big stink he raised when he drew the Batman sequence in Jeph Loeb's Christmas issue of Superman back in 2000. In his original art, he drew Batman with the yellow halo on his suit, and he refused to redraw the emblem after DC told him the yellow halo had recently been retired [for now, anyway--it'll be back someday] for some stupid reason like "It would ruin the art if I changed it" or something like that. So DC had no choice but to correct the art in-house, which left Madureira in a snit. (I remember this hissy fit being a major topic of anger at the old DC boards, with people calling Madureira on his total lack of professionalism.

It's actually very funny. At one point, Madureira was believed to be the next big innovator in comic book art, a manga-influenced Neal Adams for the 21st century. But boy, did his success go to his head, and frankly, it amuses me to no end that he went from "innovator in the making" to "forgotten flash-in-the-pan" so quickly. I hope he stays away from comics for the rest of my natural life.

You should pick up back issues of sensational spider-man by Dezago and Ringo..I think Todd Dezago is better than Waid personally. That was a great series.

.............I like it.

I know from other panels he's done that he draws Batman enveloped by the cape a lot. The Joker looks pretty damn cool there. It's not Bolland of course, but you know.

I'm not detterred by the nature implied by Catwoman's presence in the portrait either. Balent's covers are always dramatizations. The exterior art of a Catwoman book was HUMONGOUSLY contrasted to the inside of her books when he was on them.
