Can anyone reccomend a good emulator for Arcade games? I want to play the classic Konami X-Men game in the comfort of my own home.

I use Neo-Geo Rage X. I'll see if I can find a link.

I got it years ago, so I don't know if it's still where I got it from.

I forgot where I got my Roms for it, but if you need any, I could prolly send you mine.

I didn't see the file I downloaded on your link.

It's titled "mame32v77b". I think MAME is up to .83 or some rubbish.

I like the "X chicken" comment at the end.

Mame32 is running like shit on my computer, probably because my computer is shit.

How does it run on yours, Disco, and how modern is it?

MAME's windows port(the one with the gui) runs like molasses on my celeron 950 mhz/256mb RAM system too.

Most of the time results like that are due to videocards not having hardware stretching support.

I have a geforce2 vidcard and if I fiddle with the options and configure mame to take advantage of the 3d card - I get a consistent 60fps framerate at 1024 X 768 reso. Except for some newer 3d games, which is largely the fault of mame not being optimized and my slow processor rather than my system exclusively.

Mine runs great, but then again, I have a much better processor with a Geforce4.
