Okay, kids, we're off and running. . .

Let me tell you something, just because something is in a graphic format doesn't mean it needs to be apologized for. And just because a novel is serious, doesn't mean it's serious fiction. The only thing comics should worry about is telling a good story. You do that and people will find it. -Brad Meltzer

goodbye Link Fox, hello Ozzy Baxter?

Notwedge should be back in the running soon. Anyone else? Any new candidates for membership?

What happened to Pig Iron?

Short little addition. Have rehearsal right now. More later? Who knows? I just got cast in another show... so, I'm guessing not.

20 Kudos points to anyone who might guess who the pilot is.

The dog from Family Guy.

Anyway, I promise, promise, PROMISE to have Oswald in Germany, and in Vanguard Europe in my next post. I have a new job, and, thus, have had to adjust to a new schedule.

Now, in my next post, I'll have Oz in by the end of the post. However, with my schedule and all, I am fully content to leave him at the Complex, and do some 'settling in' posts while you guys are flying to face the Brood-things. If you want Ozzy in the action, that's fine. I'll leave it up to you guys. All I ask is that you don't resort to using the teleporting device to get him there (and there's a reason, as you'll see in the next post). If you want Gaunt to come get him, that's cool, I guess. Still, I feel it a bit contrived that Ozzy would arrive, and, immediately be sent into action. But, that is the consensus call.

You've all been more than patient with me, and I realize that I've been keeping him in my own personal corner lately. Not so much intentional, as practical, given my busy life. Still, I thank you for your considerate nature.

Chewy, I really, really like what you are starting to do with Icarus. I'm glad you didn't listen to me in that PM.

I miss Notwedge. What's the deal? Is he mad at someone? Is he busy? Where's my urban legend?!

CJ, given this weather over the past few months, I say you should make Lykopis the Goddess of Hurricanes...

Poor Link. I never even got to know him. Damn your school, Mxy!

Paragon and Gaunt are top-notch, and Adem continues to unfold before my eyes. Especially like stereotypical-alien assumptions that the other characters can make. Good stuff.

This is The Grimm speaking. I am communicating to you from Prometheus' computer. Until my own computer figures out how to deal with Rob's upgrades, I will only be able to post intermittently. Carry on with the story as you see fit, as there are no plans for it.

Love what everyone's done so far. Great stuff.

Jackie has expressed concern over Lykopis' ability to be effective against the Brood XIII. In my head, I see the cicadas as roughly the size of two human fists. I don't know if that's helpful or not, but like I said, take the story as you wish.

Notwedge was supposed to be back in, but I guess he hasn't had time to check back. He's got no access at home, and has been pretty busy with work.

Son of Mxy apparently didn't feel his writing was worthwhile to come in at this time, although he came up with a fantastic character.

Talked to Danny this morning and his computer is up and running again. He should be around to the stories when he gets a chance.

Anybody seen or heard from Pig Iron?

How bout those Kampys?

I think we have gathered all the data needed for preparing the Kampy, Grimm. Do you want that I resume all in a coherent post? If you want to do that, go on! After all, you are the one that "invented" the new format for the award, it would be cool if you post it.

I would've liked to have posted it, but my computer's been real screwy since before the upgrades, and since the upgrades I've had problems with being able to load up the boards.

I do think it would've been cool to post them as a series of polls, though. But I don't know if people would've wanted to see all those polls all over the place.

You could do the whole thing in one thread, as you can post more than one question per poll...

I interpreted that "what about those Kamphy" as an invitation to post the damn thread, si I waited for a reply to my question, and after some days posted it. I am going to change the title in anoither pre-thread. By the way, go there for discussing how to vote.

Just so it's clear, the "Twenty-Four Hours Later" line is set against my last post, not Docs. Therefore, it's been twenty-four hours for Ozzy since the last post. A slot that would explain how and why he's with VE. However, I shall save that for a solo thread at some point. Either way, probably about half-an-hour has passed between mine and Doc's post.

I saw that Drake had a car for his group, but, I'm guessing that Adem and Gaunt were on foot like Lykopis. Thus, the bus. If they have some transportation that I didn't catch, you can ignore what you like.

Ozzy's back. No baggage. Still same old Ozzy. The metal bruises from World of Darkness have disappeared, but, now he's a hair stronger than he should be. Nothing super-duper human, or anything. Just a gradual inch up. FYI.

Danke.

It was off the top of my head. I figured I was slowing the story too much by taking too long with getting him there. I'll explain it sooner or later. Until then, let's just have some fun.

I'm working on a post. Gonna stir things up. Introduce an antagonist for the group. Might help move the story along a bit.

Hope you feel better soon, CJ. Was your "infection" of Lykopis something subliminal? Or, did you go the extra mile to get into the head of your character?

Doc, that last little bit in your post was hilarious.

Ozzy, if there is any link between Lykopis and myself, the last thing I would have done is given her a flu. I would have had her run off with some guy from Cosmo, write a 14-page report, find 400 bucks, and go shopping at the mall.

Ugh, my head aches.

Okay, I have to explain the camel thing. It's too funny.

So, my apartment has some woods and a swamp right behind me, which is great because it means we get minimal trafiic.

Thursday night I went to bed with the covers over my head because The Ring really scared the shit out of me, even though I had seen it Tuesday during the day. Yes. I am a sissy.

Friday morning I had this weird dream. Someone had mailed a crate to me, and I was excited because I thought maybe my catalouge request had been filled in. I open the crate and there's this white camel. It had some sort of female Jewish name because I recognized it from the Old Testament. Apparently, some aunt left me some money in their will, but in order to keep the money I had to take care of the camel. So I hide the camel behind the apartments. And then I start to ride it because it came with purple riding gear. And it was soooo cool! I was riding a camel! And she liked me!

My alarm goes off at 6.30, and I feel like throwing up because I caught the flu. Both my roommates had it all week, and I wasn't sick. As soon as my Organic Chem exam was over, my immune system totally shut down, and I was sick as a dog. So I'm dressed and ready to go to class when my roommate stops me.

"Do you have an exam today?"

"No. Just lectures."

"Get your ass back in bed."

"Okay."

So I switch back into my pjs and drop into the bed, where I continue dreaming of riding my pet camel. I want a pet camel now.

And I'm still sick as a dog, but the Tylenol is making me feel better.

Oh...and this is what it says about dreaming with camels.

Quote:

Portraits of endurance. To see this beast signifies great financial gain, perhaps inheritance. First there will be hardship and obstacles to overcome.

Quote:

To see a camel in your dream, denotes that you need to be more conservative; you are carrying too many problems on your shoulders. You tend to hold on and cling on to your emotions instead of expressing and releasing them. You need to learn to forgive and forget. Alternatively, it represents you potential for handling big problems, responsibilities, and burdens.

Quote:

You will have to work hard and diligently to overcome your obstacles if your dream involved one or more of these hardy animals, unless it or they carried a burden, in which case there is some unexpected wealth, possibly in the form of an inheritance, coming your way. If you were riding on a camel or saw them in a herd, your future is very bright indeed.

So...there will be obstacles...then I will be rich...well, heck, sign me up, baby!
