I thought it was at least Season 2 since it happened in France. But I never watched the show with much regularity due to school and work.

They switched to France about half way through season one, then back to America (or Canada as it really was) in the first episode of season two!
From memory, I seem to remember they switched back again in season 2 (or maybe 3), possibly after Tessa died or something!
I think they switched back & forward as the show was some sort of co-production between Canada & France!

Agreed. One of the many things that made this a good show was that good vs. evil wasn't always black and white. It was the shades of grey that made it interesting...

It's worth picking up the DVDs - or netflix 'em - and if you don't have all that much time, skip Seasons 1 and 2 and go directly to 3-5. If you know the basics of the show, you won't miss much and the show really kicks into gear in season 3. I highly recommend it.

Only episode I ever had a sorta dislike for was the one in season one with Anthony Stewart Head in.
I never understood why Duncan would put his friends at risk, and be willing to kill people to defend a rapist.
Maybe at the begining he might have defended him, when there was some doubt, but even after he knew the guy raped the other immortals adopted daughter, he still kept killing the human mercenaries and had a sword fight with the immortal.

Should mention that I am just starting season 5.
Watched the first 4 episodes so far!
As I said, from season four I was pretty much in new territory having only seen a minimal amount of episodes, so this is pretty much like watching a new series!

I finished 42nd Street Forever. It's a collection of trailers that played in the old grindhouses and porno theaters in New York back in the 60s and 70s. Fascinating stuff. Some real film gems that I'm tempted to track down...

The first two episodes continue the story from last season, and aint too bad, but the four I have watched after this are rather piss poor!
There doesnt seem to be any sort of continuity between episodes.
All the supporting cast appears to have vanished (Dawson, Methos & Amanda).
And the flashbacks lack the detail of the previous seasons!
No wonder this season only ran for 13 episodes rather than the normal 22 (or 18 of season 5).
Season five built up so much, then season six seems to forgotten all about it!
There should have been alot more interaction between Macleod, Dawson & Methos, and Richies death shoulda had more far reaching ramifications!
All this season was set up to do by the look of it, was launch The Raven tv series, as most of the female immortals in this season were created with the possibility of being the main character before they decided to go with the established Amanda!

Yeah. I really disliked season six. It was hard to watch too. The only station in my area to air it only ran it at three in the morning, and only aired it once.
I often wonder if the show went down hill because of the change in networks and the new network demanded changes that killed the show(for ex:No more beheadings).

Apparently the original plan for the end of season 5 & the begining of season 6 was for Mac to have gone into seclusion for 30 years (instead of only six months), and the demon guy was sposed to take over Earth!
Mac comes back & the world is a dark place, but he finally beats the demon with the aid of Methos & a god knows how old, wheelchair bound Dawson!
The powers that be nixed the idea because it would have been too expensive & they didnt think a dark tv show would be popular with the viewing public!
