 Boston LegalAlan Shore and Denny Crane lead a brigade of high-priced civil litigators in an upscale Boston law firm in a series focusing on the professional and personal lives of brilliant but often emotionally challenged attorneys. Joining Shore and Crane is Brad Chase, a consumate guy's guy, who recently headed up the Washington, DC office and has been recruited to Boston to keep an eye on loose cannon senior partner Denny Crane. He also finds himself in an unending test of wills with fellow attorney Alan Shore. Fast-paced and darkly comedic, the series will confront social and moral issues, and the pursuit of happiness and money, with varying degrees of priority.

perhaps my new favorite show.
denny crane (shatner) rules. james spader's character might be my alltime favorite tv character. and there're quite a few pieces of ass to light things up (in addition to shatner!), including rhonda mitra, one-time "tomb raider" model.
...and now, betty white is on there, spouting old-lady insults!

This show is great. Definitely David E. Kelly's best work. And William Shatner shows some good range with the character.

The show started out strong but I'm losing interest rapidly.
Shatner is great, but underused. Same with "Odo."
Spader's character, OTOH, is suffereing from what I call the "Dan Fielding" syndrome, namely, that TV can't abide an unlikeable lead character so they turn a sleazy character into a heroic one.
As the show progresses, Shore is already turning from a compelling sleazy, money grubbing, immoral asshole into some sort of standard issue "moral center" on the show: always trying to save the "little guy," when he should be out to save his own bank balance.
I say make Spader an out and out bad guy again, and turn this show into "the Sopranos with law degrees."
Oh, and get the hell rid of that annoying ditzy blonde who always looks like she's going to cry.

Star-Trek Legal? Meets Benson?
When Murphy Brown (Candice?) showed up, I thought it would be great, but that episode really didn't do it for me. Haven't watched it since. Something about the characters, cant really put my finger on it.
(Although I'd like to put my finger in a few of the female characters,)

I watched my second episode ever last night and loved it........Shatner is the fucking man. They tried to ban red meat in one municipality and he was having none of it.

I have to revisit it. I sort of gave up on it as they seemed to be shrinking Shatner's role and making Spader into more of a nice guy.

Each episode gets better and better.....tonight's episode had Denny Crane Vs. Donny Crane......shattner Vs. Freedie Prinze Jr......funny stuff.....I am realy liking Spader's character and that hot piece of ass Tara.
