For the women's match and the HHH match, could have had the option of "they both die"?

So far at six votes I see some interesting trends.
Firstly that nobody here has any confidence in Jericho,Benoit & Christian as far as WWE is concerned.
Secondly, despite all the HHH heat, its even between Batista & HHH for who we want to win!

Of course this vote does not take into account wins via DQ,so its entirely possible Hemme will beat Trish, but not gain the title, cause I sure do not see her being given the belt!

I think WWE is wise enough not to end either of the heavyweight title matches with DQs,but it would be just like WWE to go ahead & prove me totally wrong!

I think the most interesting outcome of the whole night will be the Taker/Orton match as for my money there is so much more on the line.
Anyone can win a title, but nobody else can have an undefeated streak this long, except Undertaker!
The will he/wont he aspect is something that should have been hyped a whole lot more last year, and could have even donw with a bit more hype this year!
For me,this is probably the main event, despite the fact the match will probably suck seeing as Orton is involved!

I honestly believe that the only thing that'll cause the Undertaker to lose this match is a backroom promise made to him. This streak is too huge for him to job out to Orton unless Vince made it worth his while to do so.

undertaker will beat orton. clean win.

this will crush the "legend killer," who has seen his career in the past 6 months go from legend killing champion, to "fan fav," to cool guy with hot chick, to nothing. he'll now see that he needs help to reclaim his respect.

thus, off camera (to later be shown at the next day's raw), he will meet with triple h, and lend his loyalty (). all leading to orton cheating batista out of the belt with a run in.

this does a few positive things (which is why it wont happen)

1) orton becomes a full fledged heel now, what he did best (you can argue as to whether he did it well).

2) evolution now has some clout again

3) triple cheeseburger keeps the belt (he's the strongest to hold it for now)

4) batista gets put more over with pity support, similar to how stone cold got against bret hart.

thus, batista will be (more) over as a belt-chasing face. (r)evolution will be reformed and strengthened. the more recognizable character will still hold the belt. a better feud can be made between orton and batista.

How is Evolution strengthened? By a revolving door of the same two wrestlers? This gimmick is about six months past running its course. It's "feuds" like this that make me check out the price for this PPV just so I know how much money I'm saving.

The sad thing is that they have a group of solid wrestlers who are ready to carry their load (Jericho, Benoit, Cena, Guerrero, Angle...just to name a few), yet they keep rehashing the same crap over and over again to the point where it's past stale and has moved into "this'd make a nice doorstop". The best thing they could do is have HHH drop the title to Batitties (for a SHORT period of time), have HHH stay out of the spotlight for a period of time, and let the deserving battle for the title. But you know they won't do it!

While I am in no way a Batista fan,I feel it makes sense for him to hold the title!
Orton just was not ready as his push was somewhat half cocked, whereas Batistas current push has been exactly right!
I still dont think he has the talent, but he does have the old powerful monster gimmick to fall back on,just like Kane & Undertaker in the past (not that I am saying they have no talent)!

If Evolution & Orton are to move on,they need to "not" reunite.
The only way forward for Orton is as a solo act,and with regards to Evolution, while it isnt the greatest faction,it has proved to be a good way to launch mid card wrestlers to bigger things!
Just for once giving HHH & Flair their dues, without them,Orton & Batista would be nowhere.
Whether you love them or hate them,HHH & Flair are big names & carry some degree of influence with the fans!
If Evolution is to continue, they need to get more young guys who are going nowhere, guys like Maven & Chris Masters.
While this would be no better talent wise than Orton & Batista,it would at least freshen things up.
Also they could be helped by getting some female blood into the group.
Trish would be a natural, but maybe it should be Victoria or Molly to give them some sort of direction as they have nothing at the moment!

in my mind (which is in grave difference to most of the rkmbs), factions are strengthened by originators. bringing back orton would add a level to evolution that it hasn't had in months. for the most part, evolutin was flair and hhh and thats it, since the batista turn was pitched for months. bringing back a founding member is a huge boon to the grouping.

thats more like the common argument of this forum, so you'll surely find those who agree with you. however, i like the evolution pairing.

jericho has all but given up on his pitch to be a big name. to me, he phones in every performance of the past 2 years. yes, he's justified in his frustration, but all that aside... secondly, its unfair to even mention cena, eddie and kurt, since they're all on smackdown. benoit is the only argument here, and he's a great face. orton is the heel of the future. best to push him in that direction, now.

i know y'all hate triple cheeseburger, but... he's the only one big enough to carry the belt at this point. like it or not, the options are hhh and batista -- thats how the storyline has played out for the past few months. and, as over as batista is, he's not that over. to me, the smart move is to keep it on triple cheeseburger until the fans fully support batista.

and nothing gets he fans behind you like a screw job.

in this case, this'd be doubly supportive: it'd get the fans to cheer for batista and boo orton.

i disagree.

i don't think orton works (yet) as a solo act.

i also don't think (1) evolution could remain if batista wins (2) evolution would be respected by bringing in new talent.

to me, if batista wins, evolution is dead. forever. end that chapter completely, because its now worthless.

bringing in new talent is just like expanding the nWo to include horace hogan, or the wwe's nWo to include xpac. its worthless. just end it while the ending is good.

...but, again to me. the ending isn't good. its not necessary. by bringing back someone like orton, you're refueling the storyline. with three of the original members, and a wrestlemania win to their side, they could now expand to new members (1 or 2) without the feeling of dulling their might.

additionally, with batista getting screwed out of the belt, he'd gain the support of the fans behind him for a more effective push towards the championship.

I would like Evolution a lot more if they did something besides nothing with it. You mean to tell me that there's no one on the RAW roster who'd be a good fit within this group? Two people does not a faction make. There is no faction called Evolution...it's HHH managed by Flair. Any name they try to shove down our throats is a semantic argument.

Wrestlemania is a PPV for both rosters. They all wrestle for the same company. And I've been arguing for months that "Brand Extension/Separation" has run its course. So I stand by my comment here. There are more than a few wrestlers stuck spinning their wheels while the same two-or-three guys get major pushes. The guys I listed - an a few others - deserve their chance to carry the company. If Orton deserves it, then push him. But don't ignore the guys that have done their time, have the skills needed, and deserve their major push(es).

I don't hate HHH. I hate what he's become. Triple H is indicative of everything I've grown to hate about the WWE. It's boring and repetitive. It's the same two-or-three guys (or gals) getting the face time. It's nothing new. I blame the suits and the writers. The storyline has played that way for months because of lazy writing. There's no way Batista deserves the title. And there's no way he'll be able to carry the company if he wins it. This is basically a bridge for HHH's umpteenth title reign.

I think Orton's gonna win. Why? That T-shirt he showed last week on RAW. If you don't think Vince has had a couple hundred thousand of those made up to sell at 12:01 am 4/3/05 on the WWE shopzone then you're a far more trusting soul than I.

If WWE doesn't give the belt to Batista, I'll be surprised. I don't know why anyone thinks he's not over. Just listen to the pop he's been getting lately. Hell, he's been getting that pop for months in anticipation of the face turn the fans could see building. I was at No Way Out back in February. When JBL's Cabinet ran in and started whaling on the Big Show after the main event, you should have heard the "BA-TI-STA" chant that erupted. And damn was it a cool moment when his music hit ten seconds later in the middle of that. The biggest pop of the night aside from Undertaker's was Cena and Batista posing at the end.

With that said, anyone who takes the belt from HHH is nothing more than an interim champion. Let's be serious. Trips has more backstage clout than anyone save maybe JBL (And I only say that because NO FREAKING WAY should he have a title run this long. The man is a lumbering oaf, and his current persona is a poor man's HHH, and THAT is saying something). I guarantee you he will AT LEAST equal Flair's 16-time mark, maybe surpass it.

As for Orton, again, I question anyone who thinks he wasn't over as a face. He got a huge pop. Hell, some nights his was the only pop I'd notice watching Raw. But they dropped the ball by letting Hunter take the belt from him after only one month. They destroyed the credibility they had been building for two years with his Tag and Intercontinental Title reigns, and his list of legends killed, by having him job to Hunter. I think he's going to beat Taker. This is probably his last Wrestlemania. Why not put over the next generation? His legacy is secure.

But whatever happens, please, NO MORE EVOLUTION. Maven? I would get a bigger reaction from the crowd than him at this point. Chris Masters? They spent a month hyping him as a singles star. Evolution would need more than a poser to regain credibility. Evolution should live up to its name. They had the icon in Flair, the current top dog in HHH, and the future stars in Orton and Batista. It was a gimmick that made total sense while it worked, but trying to recapture that will be a mistake. And given WWE's track record, it's a mistake I fully anticipate them making.

I am strongly considering putting kampo on my ignore list - he's the hhh of the RKMBs!

With all the rumors I hear about Orton needing to be put back into his place - I think Taker is going to win. Like Nowhereman, this is a match that I am interested in the outcome!

I'm really looking for ward to the Rey Rey and Eddie match!

he's over. i just don't think he's "#1 in the company" over. yet.

i'd argue that hbk and benoit are two such individuals that currently receive a bigger pop. and, thats not to say i think they should keep the belt off batista because he's not as popular as them. rather, i think a lot more can be made of this story, and a lot more build up can be had to prolong it and make batista more popular.

i think giving the belt to batista now cheapens the story and rushes the ending.

again, he was over. but i dont think very. i also dont think he was as over as batista as is now, for 2 reasons: (1) the batista turn made sense (wwe sense, anyway). orton's didn't. he got a pop for the same reason he turned, to defy triple h. to me, thats more so a testament to h-hatred, rather than orton support.

(2) orton simply is a heel. everything about his character is "the bad guy." he's killed legends. he's got chances no one else has. he's young and rich and the ladies love'em ( ). he's every high school's "spoiled, preppy jock," and no one liked that guy! his persona and character are screaming arrogant heel.

Eddie will probably go heel again and reunite with Chavo, sparking a long Guerreros/Rey feud. Rey will team with Psicosis, who will later turn on him as well.

Christy will probably get the Women's belt, in order to push her Playboy issue. I'd rather see Trish, in both circumstances.

The ladder match is overkill. Too many guys in there.

Orton will likely get the win over Taker, cementing his "Legend Killer" angle. Although, this could be changed if he doesn't clean up his backstage antics.

Akebono will go over BigSlow as all non wrestlers go over wrestlers in these things, making the wrestlers look like dunces. I'd like to see this play out as a big feud, but it probably won't happen.

Michaels/Angle will steal the show.

Batista and Cena will win their matches, hold the belts a while, and eventually drop them back because WWE has no ideas and creativity is strangled by the Mcmahon/Helmsly creative control.

Well, I came across the Impact replay a little while ago (now on Thursday nights? WTF?) and saw an ad for Backlash of all things. They're advertising Triple H/Batista 2 as the main event, which to me, lends a bit of credence to Rob's theory.

I hate myself for saying this but I think Robhausen is correct. They've got a good thing going with Shatista and it would be spoiled if he wins the title to quickly - if ever! He is the perfect #1 contender and will never be a good champ, unless they book his next feuds correctly and we're talking WWE here, so I doubt it!

I think he will look strong and have the match won until Gandhi Orson makes the save or some other gayboy swerve!

orton simply is a heel. everything about his character is "the bad guy." he's killed legends. he's got chances no one else has. he's young and rich and the ladies love'em ( ). he's every high school's "spoiled, preppy jock," and no one liked that guy! his persona and character are screaming arrogant heel.

I agree totally that HBK and Benoit are over. The only problem is their feuds with Hunter are over. They billed the HHH/HBK Hell In A Cell last year as the final battle. The match at Taboo Tuesday was a happy bonus. And as everyone knows, Trips has a lot of control in the company, so billing it that way had to be at least partially his design. His recent win over Benoit in Pick Your Poison can't be coincidence either. So if we want a champion other than Trips right now, it almost has to be Batista. HBK and Benoit might be over with the fans, but Batista is over with Trips.

Totally agree on Orton though. I'm enjoying his heel turn heading into Wrestlemania. They've handled it nicely. I also agree his previous face turn was rushed, but they could have helped that by giving him a longer title run.

I never intended it to work for me. I don't think it really works for anybody. Begging usually isn't a good way to attract women. Just a little tip for you. Here's a wild concept. When I said it that ONE time, I was *gasp* joking.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Wrestlemania chat. How many of you are going to actually be watching?

The Horn is a nickname I got in college. My last name is Hoerner, we were all wrestling fans, and the Rock was a big deal then. Add it all up and there you go. So now you all know what it means. Who says the Internet isn't educational?

However, I will consider removing it.
