I have mixed feelings.
On one hand it'll be weird with no Richard Dean Anderson, but its great to see Ben Browder taking his place.

I'm not exactly a fan of SG-1, but are they planning to make Browder a permanent replacement for Anderson? It seems so.....Odd.

well more like Browder is filling the empty cast slot.
Beau Bridges is coming in to fill O'Neill's job.
The SG-1 writers/producers are smart in not trying to replace the characters with carbon copies. They did this well when Michael Shanks left for year 6.

Word is the main reason he wanted out is to spend more time with his daughter. And after spending 8 years on a show, I can understand that. I'll miss him, I've been a RDA fan since day one of MacGyver, so it's going to be weird to not see him on TV in fresh stuff.
Amanda Tapping (Col. Carter) will be missing for a few episodes (left overs from her having a baby not too long ago) as well but she's definately back this season.
