Ok, I'd really like to know who is still interested in this so that those who are can keep moving along without having to worry about taking time away from people who aren't going to write. So far Chewy, Pro, and myself have made posts in the past two weeks. Euro and Beardguy have stated that they will post when they can. CJ, in her feminine way, has said something that may closely resemble that sentiment. No word from Notwedge, Mxy, or Spamm. And Sammitch is maintaining his status quo.

Don't I do everything in a feminine way?
Seriously, this weekend's blank (I needed some 'me' time), so I'll probably write something.
I'm a little worried, however, that this is all too 'global' for Bellatrix. However, I want to make it work. Let me read the new posts and think about it.
(By the way...I LOVE this job, even if it keeps me busy.)

Oh, and Grimm, loved the Lykopis bit in your story. Will have to reread everything tonight.
I also want to mention I'm working on a short story for some prize money by Writer's Digest. I'm in no rush since they do this contest every year...but I finally had an idea I got in the shower that I think would work well in a short story format. I don't want to give too much away, but I was really inspired by Clint Eastwood's High Plains Drifter and the novel The Count of Monte Cristo. Let me know if you want to critique the first draft (maybe in another three weeks).

First thing's first.
Tell us more about that shower.

Posted. I'm still coming to grips with the whole 'WWIII' thing, but whatever. I decided to focus on what a bastard Orion is, and for some reason, I feel like watching the Godfather...

Ok, I think the Chinese invasion may have been a bit much for everyone. If no one thinks they can write with it going on, just say so. I can write one big post that'll take it away without being too God-in-the-machine about it or too overpowering with the characters.

I think the story was somehow dead before the post about the Chinese invasion, or I wouldn't have picked up from there.
I have a little time this week, and I could post something. I like the idea about the Chinese invasion, IF we can somehow get together our characters (Chewy's guy seems the one that knows enough to try that) to do a real counterattack.
If nobody is interested, my idea is that we should just scrap the last posts concerning China, and continue from before.
I'm up for working with the chinese invasion, but it is problematic purely in terms of what to actually physically do with Sawyer and Harpy, who are together at the the moment.
After all, we have a couple of War machines, a superman, a Spectre (religion fighting State Atheism), a bounch of incredibly smart guys, a time pirate. We can go from wrestling the entire population of China to going back in time to avoid the attack, to lifting half of Asia to space...
China is outta the picture now. It's pretty much been knocked back to a pre-computer tech level. I'd say that there could still be Chinese soldiers running around the US, trying not to be caught.

I'm going on vacation tomorrow, so I wasn't doing jack shit at work today.

Last call for anyone who may still be interested in writing any of this. Otherwise, I'm taking over.

BTW, Jackie, how did this turn out.
And tell us about the story too.

Well...you know...work...I sort of got stumpted. I seem to do that a lot.
It is okay, Jackie..I get stumped, too. A lot of writers do, at some point in time. You seem to be off in a great direction with your present solo project.
Even after I revamped my character. ( ditching the robot guy in favor of a human hero ) I still got stumped. Never wrote in a group story before, and found it especially awkward - and the China invasion seemed too daunting a task for me to fit my characters into.. might give it a go another time.. and will write the characters I created into a Champions story.
hey, Oakers, your China subplot was dealt with months ago. you might wanna try to read the story.
