RKMBs Forums .::Robegories::. Games and Tech Anyone playing FF XII?

I just picked this up on Saturday...and I dunno. I fucking love Fran (sexiest rabbit thing ever...the hair, that voice...HOT!)...but nothing else is grabbing me.

Admittedly, I'm not so far into it...but the first three bosses I've encountered were a joke. The flaming horse, the Mimic Queen, and the Judge all took less effort than some creatures I've encountered in the desert (the werewolves were a bitch and a half to kill...but even they are no match for my quickening chains now). The Judge (the one on the Imperial airship, just after you rescue the princess) took one fucking hit to kill. He was dead before he could get off his first spell.

The main character is a complete faggot (does anyone else wish he had a mute button for that gay little lisp of his?) who makes Tidus look like Conan. Tthe rest of the party (save Fran and Balthier..I really like them both) are just as annoying for thier own reasons. I fucking hate the bitchier than thou princess.

The whole thing just feels like shades of 'Star Wars: Ep.1, to me. They even through in the whiny blonde kid to appease the fans of the original trilogy...

I do like the fighting system though, and the free roaming (to a point...). I had charted most of the desert prior to the parade, which was kinda fun. BTW: Does anyone know where to find the herb for the doctor in the riverbank village? I've scoured the western desert, as she said...and I have no idea where this shit is.

The gambits system is so much more intuitive than other 'real time' party system games I've played. This might be why I haven't pitched the game despite any real interest in the story...it's really fun to actually play. I enjoy the hunts more than anything else. I'm trying to level up enough to go exploring the caves in the western expanse.

I picked up the demo, but haven't gotten around to trying it though. I suppose though, with my job, I could just sign out a copy for 4 days and play as much as I could and see if I want to buy it.

I think I'm leveling up too much as I go. I have yet to meet a boss that even touches me...let alone kills me. I just killed the two demon doors in the king's temple without so much as blinking.

I talked to someone today at work, and he says it gets MUCH harder as it goes on.

I shame myself on how little ive played this game. Its fun as hell but im like only level 5 or something so far.

Here's my question: Who in the game is worthy of being in the next Kingdom Hearts?

Maybe they could have her and Lulu from FF10 be sorority girl roommates at Hollow Bastion University....

I've been playing this, and I like it. I don't seem to be having as easy a time as Klint did, as I've died a few times, especially on the Clan Hunts (damn, you, cluckatrice! DAMN YOU!). I actually enjoy the story. Now, to be fair, every FF game has at least some Star Wars homages (usually npcs named Vicks, Wedge, or Biggs), but this is the most blatant. Like saving the princess from the Imperial airship while your "guest" party member is dressed like an Imperial Stormtrooper.

i play it from time to time. i forget where i am, though i have fought the demon doors, one of which i couldn't kill. beat that phoenix. i was busy on god of war and need for speed recently
