Do you know Z-Cult, sensitive piggie? They're the ones who make all those chronological gigapacks.

When I discovered the wonderful world of stealing comics, I feared the websites would be shut down within in a month, so I got as many full runs as I could: Cerebus, X-Men (up till 1993 or so), Fantastic Four, Hellblazer, Teen Titans, LoSH, etc. Two years later the websites are still there, and I got a drawer full of unread comics I haven't even touched.

Hahhahhahahahaha,, no I don't know them per se. But I've heard something from someone or somesuch.

After I download them I'm selling my hardcovers, trades and such on ebay..hahah.I'm keeping my actual comics, but the collections can go since I don't need them anymore.

Actually Isohunt did shut down for a while-I was worried until I started at Demonoid...

The comics are in a pretty popular format called .CBR. All you need to read a CBR file is installing a little program called CDisplay. A normal 22 page comic (ads are ditched by most scanners) takes about 12 MBs. The quality looks fine to me... I haven't found a low quality scan in a while.

A CBR file is actually a .RAR folder (with a changed extension), full of image files, usually JPGs. The advantage over simply downloading the scanned pages is that the reader makes it easier to scroll and flip through the pages, and is highly customizable. It zooms the pages to full screen by default, but I set mine to leave the explorer bar.

This is pretty much accurate as far as I'm concerned..I will only add that I love the CBR and now hate PDF....I refuse to even buy the marvel DVDs that are a mere 40 dollars because they are in PDF---I'd rather download a cbr...

OK Im guilty of this shit. But if I can actually get a design job I swear to start pumping money back into the comic industry. If this gets too popular comics will end up as a novelty Marvel Entertainment remembered publishing after the movies became the only medium to see Spider-Man anymore.
