Sadly, yes. The 70's were a pretty crazy time, mostly due to the rampant drug use. A lot of his friends committed suicide, or just seperated themselves from the rest of society, and slowly wasted away. Luckily, my dad got his addiction under control and put his life in a better direction.

Though, that being said, he still had a fuck load of problems(physically, mentally and emotionally), most of which he's still working through.

Whew.

My dad has spent close to 12 thou on doctors and hospitals and all that shit. He doesn't want to be better. He hates women.... which sucks 'cause he has a wife and four daughters, yeah? He is a self-centered, passive-agressive, degenerate, wretched, slimy, filthy piece of pondscum and he tells me I don't love you in second FUCKING grade and doesn't even have the decancy to leave or even tell anyone else so I have to grow up with him and nobody understands and they think I'm a callous bitch because I hate him for not getting a fucking job but I even make more goddamn money an hour than him and he turned down good job offers to 'stay with his family' well guess WHAT fucker we don't want YOU and I hope one day he dies so I never have to see his bastard face again in my house because I can stand on my goddamn OWN fer chrissakes and he can keep his money and he can rot in hell and he can do his OWN GODDAMN DISHES! Jesus CHRIST! Fer FOUR months once the ONLY thing he said to me was "Ashley, do the dishes." or to tell me to turn on the TV news. Four FUCKING months. And you know what, if I wasn't afraid of going to jail forever I swear to god I would rip his bastard face off with a fucking chainsaw I swear to god.

Uschi, my Mom was kind of whacked and my Dad is an alcoholic. I knew my Mom loved me as much as she was able (yes, before she died-back to the thread topic), and my dad too. having dysfunctional parent/s or family is bad. But having chainsaw feelings is really fucked up. All I can say is i'm glad I never had to deal with that kind of emotional shit. I dealt with more sanitized or non-existant emotion.

I LOVED his death! It was marvelous! Magnificent! Until he came back, but I kinda liked the couple robot issues I read. ....How did that end anyhow. I read, like, one issue for most of the 'Reign of the Supermen' characters and got bored. How did "real supes" come back?

I have that issue, too. My brother, who never read a comic book in his life, actually read that one because he liked the cover. Personally, I thought all the hypnosis stuff was a bit much...

I don't remember the explanation for how Superman returned, either. It had something to do with the Eradicator. I think.

It wasn't the Kryptonite what gave Supes his powers back, it was all the energy the Erradicator had stored. In his insanity, the Erradicator had been absorbing the solar energy Supes' body stored and using it to play "Violent Superman". He kept Superman in a pod in the Fortress.

Personally, the only thing I don't like about Reign of the Superman is that they revealed that Cyborg was Hank "Reed Richards" Hensaw too soon.
