I've started up a Google Site that acts like a wiki in that all collaborators on the site can edit any page. I've called this site BLAMguard, for lack of a better name, and I created it because I miss writing the kinds of RPG-like collaborative fiction that I used to do with the MBL, TOMB, and Vanguard in this forum.

Anyway, I'm looking for writers seriously interested in collaborative fiction. Rather than writing planned-out, solo-written stories, I'd like all site collaborators to directly follow up each chapter in a story, using characters created by others as well as those created themselves. If you're interested in such a venture, send me a PM with a short note explaining what interests you about it, and include your email address.

Last week I wrote the first chapter in a wikinovel based on a concept I'd originally thought of (but never used) for this forum called "The Chrononauts." It's a time travel team story in the sci-fi genre. I chose this kind of concept so that each story can take place in a different era or parallel universe. For now, I'd like to keep the new writing on the site to this one wikinovel. If it's successful, and if we can attract enough writers, another wikinovel could be started eventually. (I may also be posting older written stories of the MBL, TOMB, or Vanguard to archive them online, but they're not meant to be continued.)

The question is, what is a wikinovel?

I'm really only interested in writers who enjoy collaborative writing. This forum hosted many such stories over the last seven years. I'm hoping some of those writers who participated in those stories will want to do something similar on this wiki.

I've now begun to include older collaboratively written stories in the Archives section of the site, beginning with Vanguard:

I've been creating posts from the original story as individual chapters in the story, and editing things for style, continuity, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Eventually I hope to add more detail to the chapters, especially when there are elements introduced but never explained. Any chapters that don't really fit into the story I've moved into a subsection called "Non sequitur." I'll be doing the same with every archived story.

In the case of the older MBL and TOMB stories, I'll have to do a lot of rewriting to get them up to par with the more sophisticated style of the later stories, so they won't be appearing very soon. When they do, it will be more like a slow trickle than a flood, since rewriting and massive expansion takes much longer. One of the things I plan on doing is changing some of the names, for instance. Many names were simply random usernames and don't make much sense as names for superhero characters. Other names are trademarked names of characters owned by DC Comics, Marvel Comics and others, so I'll be changing them as well.

I'm afraid only the most geeky, die-hard fans of the original MBL (ie. me and Eurostar) will be interested in the above, but I wanted to let anyone interested know, assuming there are still a few former MBL/TOMB/Vanguard writers still floating about.

I'll contribute to the Wikinovel. I had a similar idea in collaborative fiction a few months ago.

TTT - I've been editing the fuck out of Chapter 1 of McKenzie's Chrononauts.

I've unfortunately done it as an e-mail to your gmail account, not as a word doc. Next time I'll do it as a word doc so you can see the mark-up.

Its just the first brush of paint. I'll go over it again, but in the meantime will send you the first draft tonight so you can get a sene of what I've done and post it at the site.

I've temporarily made BLAMguard a private, unshared site while I retool it. I separated the wikinovel from the site, because all the archiving I was doing at BLAMguard was overshadowing the Krononauts story. Now both sites have more focus.

That's just it though, it is the equivalent if he came to a forum for discussion and said he didn't see the point in discussing things on a forum. Saying you don't see the point in a specific show isn't the same thing as saying you don't see the point in discussing shows in the media forum, for example. That's what concerned/amused me.

btw, it's sad that you can't talk to me without attempting personal insults. Forums are for discussion, after all, not namecalling.
