They're will be massive lay offs. No one will be able to keep all their employees once obamas tax plan takes place.

In two years the republicans will take over congress and we might have an even balanced government.

I think you're wrong. I think when theses companies get their taxes raised they will go on a hiring spree to celebrate. They'll likely move jobs back into the country so that they can enjoy paying even more taxes.

Ten percent unemployment by the end of next year. Twenty by the end of the year after that.

Major corporation mergers will happen within two years. They will have to merge to stay competitive and successful.

Some major companies will go out of business.

Huge public works projects (roads and such) will be failures. Over budget and late.

We would have these problems with or without obama as president. The country is so bad right neither obama or mccain could turn it around. I think we would have been a little better off if mccain would have been elected but it would have taken a great president to turn us around in the next four years. Neither candidate is that.

Neither of the two would have a second term. There's too many people in America that won't think ahead and let someone take charge for eight years if we hit rock bottom during the first four. If we don't get a great leader who will run this country like a business (hopefully we will have Iraq under control by then) then the country will fall even faster.

If he follows through on his plan to tax companies out of competition a lot will weigh on him. I'm hoping it was more of his campaign lies and he gives these companies room to breathe.

I know a guy who runs a tire shop, he said if Obama's tax proposal goes through as originally proposed he'll likely let go two part timers that work for him and go back to doing more of the work himself. I imagine you could multiply this times all the tens of thousands of other small business, and see what a ripple effect this will have.

Obama will do something damaging to the video game business. Of all the things he's ignorant about this might be the biggest. He hasn't played a video game since pong and he wants the government to "be more involved" in rating video games. That will not end well.

Actually the stock market tends to do pretty well with a democrat in office as long as the President doesn't tax the shit out of the country, corporations and small businesses. Obama if he does raise the cap gains tax it will be minimal. I am starting to believe that Obama will not do any of the things he promised the masses and will more than likely govern from the center.

As far as the stock market goes with higher cap gains taxes people are less likely to take profits out and stocks tend to grow better without crazy volatility. The stock market was just trying to send a message to Obama this week.....you fuck with us and we will fuck with you. If you don't believe that than you don't know how business works.

My guess is Obama has seen the light on higher taxes for business. HE will give the lower class a bigger break, keep the Bush tax cuts in place and say something like "we have to get out of this recession first, so I'm going to cut some military for now to make up the difference, and as we rebound res institute the taxes." hoping that we do rebound so his campaign can be one of strengthening the military by taxing businesses.

If he wants money for govt. programs all he has to do is do what he and Mac said they were going to do and make everything transparent and stop wasteful spending.

I know the lefty line is that Bush's tax cuts were only for the wealthy, but a guy I work with is looking at paying another $4000 a year in taxes if they are allowed to expire. This guy is doing well but hardly rich and has a family to support.

What is rich?.. is a question many dems never want to answer. If they weren't so pig headed about it their party would appeal to me a lot more.

It used to be a family with $250,000 a year in income. Then it was $200,000. Then, $150,000. Then, $120,000. I haven't kept up with their last weekend meeting. It might be as low as $75,000 by now.

Anything's possible but-even if Obama wanted to do what you describe-I doubt Reid and Pelosi would let him keep the Bush tax cuts at this point.

He MIGHT agree to defer further tax increases. However, the Bush cuts are going to expire if new legislation isn't passed and, after spending the past eight years calling them 'tax cuts for the rich,' I don't see how he-or any other liberal Democrat-is going to suddenly agree to extend them.

I never fully understood that aspect of our legislative system. We have this minimum tax created in the late 60's that not only doesn't expire, but isn't set for inflation and will wind up over taxing the middle class. The fix that was passed to keep that from happening, though, will wind up expiring and catching a shitload of taxpayers in high tax bills during economic hard times. What fucking chimps are writing the goddamn laws up there?

Reid is already at odds with the regime, apparently Obama's people want Lieberman punished severely for having the audacity of having an honest opinion. Reid is said to be pulling for Lieberman. I've read to that Reid is frustrated about the way the Obama regime is dictating to them. The Sen Dems didn't like Bush bullying them and thought that with a Dem White House win those days were gone but it looks like they might have got a worse "boss".

DHL is laying off thousands of workers and will most like be out of business within a couple months.




This has nothing to do with obama. It has everything to do with them being the worst company I've ever dealt with. If you're gonna go up against UPS and Fedex, you're gonna need less crack heads working for you.

Yeah, DHL is terrible. I've actually had stuff get places faster using US mail.

I had to have DHL pick something up from my office one day. I gave the dispatcher exact directions to my office, telling him where my office was on the third floor of which building. The mother fucking driver arrives and goes to a building with only one floor. No one he asks knows about a package, so he left. I had to call DHL when the dude hadn't shown up half an hour after he was supposed to to find that shit out. I had to stand outside for that dipshit to find me and take the package.

I used to work in a shipping department. We would ship out around 3000 packages a day. We used Fedex and UPS until Airborne Express (which is now DHL) offered us a deal. We switched to them and within a week we had 200 a day that they sent back because they couldn't find the address. I talked to one of the delivery drivers and he said most of crew was on crack so they could stay awake for their five to six hour shift. I have never heard anyone say anything good about them. They should have gone out of business years ago.
