I picked this game up last Saturday and just finished it so here's the review:

Plot:Seeing as how Indiana Jones is at least as familiar as Star Wars for the most part,I don't need to fill in on the story.The game plot,of course,revolves around the three original Indy films,6 chapters to each one hitting the highlights of the movies for the most part with a couple or so levels not shown in the movies.You basically work your way through the chapters solving puzzles,beating up Nazis and Thuggee cult guys and a "boss" at the end of each chapter.


Gameplay:While in Lego Star Wars you'd have to solve a few puzzles here and there,Lego Indy relies heavily on puzzle solving throughout the entire game.Admittedly,I spent a while on something a lot longer than I should have trying to figure a puzzle out but hey,a little challenge in a game is a good thing.Nothing too difficult to be sure.I found that Indy's bullwhip,unlike the lightsaber in LSW,to be fairly useless against enemies and you're better off punching 'em or using a shovel when you have it.You can pick up guns,rifles and bazookas from enemies after you punch 'em out but they have only a few shots before you lose 'em.Shame really,cuz shooting the bad guys is fun.

Once a chapter is finished,free play is unlocked for that level where you can go back and use different characters to get to secret rooms that you couldn't get to during the story.There's also many characters you can unlock by purchasing them along with extra features and so forth.


Fun Factor: Sure it's fun and all and who doesn't like a John Williams soundtrack to play a game to(I'm waiting next for Lego Superman),but even though it's 18 chapters of play and you can go back to find hidden items,you wish there were a bit more to it.For instance,the Final Crusade level doesn't even have the young Indiana Jones "prequel" that was in the movie......hell,that coulda been a couple or so extra chapters there on it's own,nor Indy on the boat recovering the cross of Coronado.I digress though,cuz I know they wanted to keep the "meat" of the movie ,but still.....

Anywho,fun game all around.


Al's rating:I give it an 8/10 only cuz there was more to play than they put in and I Kind of wish they held off on the game til' after Kingdom of the Crystal Skull had come out so they could've thrown that one in there too and given more play-time.Sill it's worth it so go play it.


I'm also playing Lego Batman as well so that review will be along a few days from now as well.

Love the humour in them as well.
The Batman one was probably the funniest!

robin was pretty funny.

I have to say that there were a few problems with batman, where you would need 2 players because the computer controlled partner was a real unhelpful div but other then that - great fun.

I even enjoyed the Star Wars prequel Lego.

I loved the stuff with Batman, where he was trying to pick a lock (I think it was) and Robin is being chased by one of the villains, backwards and forwards across the back of the scene, and without looking, Batman throws a batarang and knocks the villains out cold!

I put some serious gaming time in on Batman recently.

I've done 98.6% of it.

I am only missing one minikit - I know where it is but as I say in my last posts, you need another player to help out.

It's the last level of the villains penguin section. The part where you have to ski down, you have no real control of the characters.

I am also coming up 1 or 2 coincs short in the Wayne Manor level.

I love how Robin keeps mugging for the camera, doing stunts on his bike.

Killer Moth is also amusing, it's funny how he's so attracted to lights.

Time to put some serious hours into Indy lego.

As Nowhereman says, it's the little touches in the Lego series that the programmers have taken time over that's so great.

And it's a good game to play with younger relatives.

with women also.

How could I forget to mention that?

The problem is that the wimmens always shoot you in the back or start straying too far, forcing you off ledges.

Pariah never did that when I played with him.

Well thats how they are in life, so its pretty much expected while they are gaming as well.
