In season two someone (Ben?) said that the statue could have been destroyed by a Tsunami. They've always planned to foreshadow things but how much they could actually do was up in the air.

Exclusive: ABC Supersizes 'Lost' Finale

 Quote:
ABC has found more time to say goobye to "Lost."

The network has decided to supersize its farewell to the iconic drama, expanding a previously announced one-hour pre-show to two full hours. The special is now expected to air from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, right before the two-hour "Lost" finale.

Add in a special "Jimmy Kimmel Live" -- "Lost: After the Final Rose"-- airing that Sunday, and ABC is now planning to devote no less than five hours of airtime to the "Lost" swan song.

That's really showing some (Dharma) initiative!

Would any one here put lost in a top ten shows of all time list? I would put it at number 5 or 6 on the list.

I would, but Danger Mouse would still rank high than it.

Unless they do something really stupid I'd put it in my top five. There's a couple bad episodes and story lines keeping Lost from being perfect.

i'd definitely put it in a top 10 or even top 5 list. i don't recall any other show in recent years that i couldn't wait for the next episode. maybe sopranos, and even that is now going back a few years.

You marathoned The Shield, right? The wait between episodes of that was tortuous at times.

yeah, up until the last season. and even though the last season was great, i could have easily DVRd an episode of the shield and let it sit for a few days before watching it. lost, i have to watch asap.

i do a lot of marathoning with shows lately, i guess. i did the shield and rescue me at the same time. now i've gone through 3 seasons of dexter, with the wire up next. we even watched all 5 seasons of lost in the past few months... and i think even then, i couldn't wait to watch the episodes.

Mrs G and I just started renting "the Wire" and have watched two episodes. It's good, but so far I don't see why people think it's better than "the Shield" or "the Sopranos." Right now, I'd put it about the same as early seasons "Homocide" or "Southland" ... a good gritty cop show but not the best show in TV history.

As for Lost, Mrs G insists on watching it the night it airs whenever possible, even though we DVR it. It's all I can do to convince her to wait about half an hour into it, so we can FF through the commercials.

Be patient with the Wire. It builds. Right now I'm sure it seems like the one in a million cop show at first.

Just wait until they start to build their case. Wait until Omar really gets going.

Season 2 starts off a little slow as well, but after that the Wire really becomes great.

Stick with the Wire it will pay off. I doubted at first too.

I plan on sticking with it. Even if it turns out to be no better than Southland or Homocide both of those are good shows. I just wonder if it's really better than Sopranos or the Shield

I don't know if it's better but it's certainly more complex. I finished the second season and took a break to watch Damages, now I can't wait to get back to it.

I found the show hard to follow at the beginning of season 2 because of all the new characters. I even found it hard to care about most of them. But yeah, I'm glad I stuck with it. Jesus, Ziggy.

By the way, Damages has some actors from The Wire. Brother Mouzone and the Greek show up in season 3. And the main character's that lady from The Shield with the man name, Glenn something.

Everybody Loves Hugo is tonight. Libby, Michael (WWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT) and some others return. I've been waiting since the first season to know more about the "deck incident" from Hurleys past. If they don't go over it tonight I'll be disappointed.

I watched the first two episodes of season two earlier today. Its both brilliant (seeing Jack and Desmond running in the stadium was awesome) but Michael yelling is easily the worst thing ever on Lost.

it really doesn't help how that one famous "waaaaaaalt" was used in the "previously, on lost" previews every single week. when you marathon the show, you get non stop "waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalt"ing.

also, michael is a shit.

one up the stairs, one down, sometimes in sync, rarely in the same row. ...until jack stumbles and desmond can reach him.

Hurley was on the island for 3 months. While technically he should've lost a lot of weight from all the walking, sweating, smaller food portions, and no refined sugars he did have access to the Dharma food stores to sort of explain him maintaining his weight. Then he went back to LA for 3 years and probably ate a lot to keep his figure.
It's just one of those things, like hair growth, that you have to suspend disbelief on.

I think "not done with" only means "the island won't let you die." Michael could die but he still couldn't move on because of the sins of his past.
