I find that Iggy is human, like most of us here. Sometimes I agree with him (and vice versa), sometimes not (and vice versa). Sometimes I think he's reasonable and insightful. Other times I think he's unnecessarily combative.

While I agree he let himself get a little too invested in pro's off-putting foolishness I find that if one responds to iggy calmly and with good humor he tends to be a pretty good guy most of the time. On the other hand, accusing him of (paraphrase) "LIES" and "SLANDER" tends to get "bad Iggy" to stick around.

the most creative stabs of late feature battles of laughy face versus dots. to kick it up a notch, they've often been stored and repeated in quotes. it's been magical.

in days of yore, insults were crafted. developed. the power of burn harnessed. maybe it was through a photoshop. a flowing diatribe. a clever poke of sorts. there's over 10 years of archived history within the forum for reference, featuring many of the same cast. it was a part of the forum that inspired discussion, not bankrupted it.

now? no. there's too much focus and concern over the loss of being able to tell, or fake, where another poster is currently browsing online to breathe life into anything. honestly, how can i tell a person they are obsessed with me when i can't obsess about them?

devoid of charm and style, many discussions have abstracted into the dcmbs of the timeless "hal jordan" era. there's no fun to making a point. there's no point to even be made, or fun in the process of not-making it. embarrassing even hal in the background, everyone is making the same noise. or each other's noise, with devious reciprocity [fucking right, i said it], finding new ways to say "nuh uh, you" whilst busting identical anger spittle you later claim only your opponent does.

the result is becoming irrelevant enough for the books sub-titler to ignore your character.

my children, the playground was, is, and will be yours. if i could inceptize the lot of you, i'd plant happy thoughts and fun discussions in weird tundra worlds of your mind. there's a reason you're here, and a reason you've all said, more than once, how you hate facebook and twitter and such.

make it worth it. and work to make it worth it.

Part of me wonders why there is even a comics forum anymore.

I think we need a common enemy.

This ties into the lack of creativity. It is hard to put forth the effort to be creative when it is seen as casting your pearls before swine.

What you're saying (in a rather witty-esque fashion) is that no activity is better than anything. I agree that there's an "art" to trolling. But, when I started, there were three posts a day (2 from Lothar killing threads, & one from SOM pointing that out). So, simply re-quoting and \:lol\:-ing is more than enough to get the ball rolling.

It's called "Trolling", Dave. I told you a long time ago not to take me seriously. I'm just baiting the hook. No one forced you to bite every single time.

Is it? If I am identified as a "problem" to overcome to find enjoyment in posting, then the only logical and reasonable thing would be for me to voluntarily stop posting here. That way, everyone wins. So, I don't see how that would be considered "cowardly", no more than Nowhereman's disappearance is concluded as such.

I've had Iggy, Pro and Rex all deservedly on ignore for 3 months.

Frankly, the only reason I'm taking you off ignore is because there's so few posters left here.

Short of not posting here at all, there aren't enough people posting to these boards to make it easy to ignore you. Not because of any attempt on your part to bait a response, but just for the lack of others left to interact with, I'm giving you a chance.


And before you return to the exact same tactics that motivated not just me but several others to put Pro and Rex on ignore, just think about the fact that there are so few left here.
Far from Pro's belief that he is somehow "saving" these boards by his antagonism, lies and outright slander, and likewise Rex's various harassments, and Iggy's harassments and cheerleading of the above, those are the very reasons maybe 10 or less people even post here.

Think about that before you try to kill what little is left at this point.

If you want the problem re-defined, just re-read this topic.

I suspect I'll still be ignoring a huge swath of what's posted if it remains the same, but at this point I'll be doing it manually, and not with the ignore function.

All I said was I took you off ignore, and I hope you don't repeat the same troll behavior that made me put you and others on ignore in the first place.
