The original Johnny Quest 26-episode series is among my favorites, along with the Bugs Bunny/Road Runner hour. I can't even think of another animated adventure series that even comes close.

In the waning days of VHS, about 20 or so years ago, I got the whole series on VHS. I haven't gotten around to purchasing it on DVD. Doug Wildey did the storyboards for the series, along with a lot of stories for DC's war and western series.

For a series that was instantly popular and a great success, I wonder why it only ran for one 26-episode season from 1964-1965.

I love Doug Wildey's art in comics. For those who haven't seen it, I highly recommend Wildey's "Rio" western series, that ran in ECLIPSE MONTHLY 1, 2, 5, 9 and 10.
And later collected in an 8" X 11" RIO graphic novel published by Comico.

Wildey also did a number of war and Western stories for DC, including a Jonah Hex story in WEIRD WESTERN 26.

I could envision Wildey being close friends with and having shared interests with Alex Toth, Gray Morrow, San Glanzman, Joe Kubert and Russ Heath.
