So I’ve liked a lot of Whedon’s stuff over the years so I sort of just didn’t really pay attention to the Justice League stuff but now I’ve seen the actress who played Cordelia on Buffy the Vampire Slayer post about some her dealings with him. I like lots of his stuff but this really makes me not anymore

Apparently something he did toward the then underage actress resulted in this rule

Ughh not really a two sides of a story type thing when you have that plus being really nasty to a pregnant actress. Glad they are speaking out.

It wont ruin my enjoyment of what he did but I will certainly think twice about buying what he does.

I'll be shocked if Whedon's career survives this.

I was wondering if the Angel star was going to comment. Glad to see the Cordelia actress and the others get some support from the rest of the cast.

I was actually discussing this with Chewy on a livestreamed Skype call (I have a bunch of new filters in OBS that I need to figure out and he can even make my tech checks entertaining) and we're both pretty conflicted. There's something to be said for separating art from artist, and what Whedon did doesn't mean we can't still appreciate the performances of the cast and the quality of the finished product. (Whether that's worth him collecting residuals off you is another question.) But yet again, that it took THIS long for this to go public says a lot about the balance of power in the industry and about how very far we still need to go as a culture.

It’s nice that at least this time instead of one actor being difficult to work with, enough have spoken where i think it’s going to fall on Whedon. I’ll always enjoy Firefly and Buffy and maybe just admire the actors more for what they had to put up with.
