Comics are "bad" enough but do you collect toys as an adult? What do you collect and do people think you're childish/weird for doing it?

I'm a grown child and collect...Bowen statues and busts, animated DC figures (BTAS, STAS, and JL), and 3 3/4 inch GI Joes.

And yes people think I'm a nerd.

Thank Gob for college, 'cause most of my money goes there. I used to collect until 17-18 years of age; comics were enough for me.

I do have all of my old Masters of the Universe, Rambo, most of my M.A.S.K, and all of the '96-'99 series Star Wars figures in their packaging and in storage.

Plus some neato Starting Line-Up figures from the mid-80's like Ruth, Robinson, and Clemente.

I have all my old "Joes" scarred and damaged from battle.

I still buy action figures if I have to have it. (Groundskeeper Willie, Marvel Legands Wolverine, Magneto.)

I buy two so I can save one and open one.

I collect Life-size plush Teletubbies - for much darker and erotic purposes.

(My favorite is the purple one with the purse...HOT DAMN!)

That's a human size robotech veritech or transformer jetfire. I sold my jetfire on ebay for over 100.00 smacks.... I miss the cool little guy, but for 100.00 bucks he can kiss off.

the transformer repros from takara are coming out pretty quickly....they are reallllyy expensive though. optimus and megatron are between 80-100.00, soundwave is about 50.00 and the cars and jets are abot 30-35.00....
inflation is a bitch...

I collect some LEGO. Specifically Star Wars models. I just wish I could afford the Star Destroyer and the Blockade Runner.

I will get the Millenium Falcon when/if it comes out. I'm talking about the collector's series stuff.

I have also gotten my hands on 2 Veritechs.

For a while I was collecting 1/100 size Gundams. I have all three versions of the Wing Gundam.

I would collect any of the Transformers that can combine to form super-robots (you can tell I am a child of the 80's), but I just don't have the money.

You're not afraid that that thing will come to life in the middle of the night and sodomize you? Look at that groin area.

Are you kidding? I've been into toys since Mego.

I have a complete set of DC Direct figures. I'm limiting my collecting to this line. I used to have a lot more, but they didn't survive the Great Toy Collection purge of 2001.

My wife lets me collect these things and store them in the living room, along with all my comics. I have to admit, I am embarrassed when maintenance people come over. I give the old, "Oh, that was just my line of work," excuse. Although one time I caught the building manager giving some of his friends a tour of our apartment, so maybe I should open a museum.

I collect toys, nothing really on an obsessive basis, except for the new Masters of the Universe. I've got a fair share of McFarlane toys, a statue or two, if I see something cool lookin' or whatnot. Usually I buy toys based on comic characters, except Marvel, 'cause Toy Biz makes the shittiest toys. Ever.

If I buy a female character, I have to buy two, one for me, one for my girlfriend.

I still buy plenty o' toys.

Mainly I collect the DCDirect figs but I also pick up plenty o' other ones too, like Star Trek or Farscape.

I still have ton's of ones from days gone by like my Super-Powers figs, the Giant Shogun Warriors from the 70's and all kinds of stuff I don't feel like listin'.

And no,Nobody tells me I'm a nerd.I'd kick thier ass if they did.

If I had the money I'd love to collect toy lines. The ones I've had my eyes on are: Kingdom Come, Mattel Batman, New MOTU, Matrix, Justice League, and other DC stuff. Mini-Mates and Pocket Superheroes look cool too.

Shit if I had all the money I could ever want and more I wouldn't buy expensive cars or exotic people to keep trapped in a coffin-like box under my bed.

No, I would buy comic books and action figures.

I need to find you guys a link I saw.

Some dude in Japan built a Gundam model that stands taller than his house. ( which barely made it to the robots shoulders)

I've got 2 bookcases filled up with Superman figures, with 2 shelves reserved for Batman, Popeye figures and the DC Pocket Heroes share a large table with my wife's Winnie-The-Pooh figures, and I've gotten my wife into Wonder Woman collecting, as well. :)
