I remember that game. It was 'Prince of Persia' sci-fi.

It WILL come with a free comic book, you mean, once technology advances enough to allow those graphics.

Just dug out Legendary again, as never really got into playing it before, as had too many other games to play, and it seemed pretty weak.
Have actually found it to be reasonably enjoyable.
While I would certainly have been pissed off if I had paid £40 for it, for the £15 I paid, its actually a pretty decent game.

Also, just completed some add on packs for a few games.
Fallout 3 Broken Steel was actually pretty cool, but The Pitt was awful.
Will probably go for Point lookout next as thats apparently the best of the DL content, but will probably DL Mothership Zeta and Operation Anchorage at a later date.

Also completed the DL content for FEAR 2. Reborn is pretty decent overall, with you playing a different character to the main game, and it takes place in different areas to the main game, meaning its all new.
Didnt think the horror element was as good though, and the ending was very weak.

I've just finished Final Fantasy X. I like the game and the story, but could have done without the love story aspect. It was as grating as the anakin/padme aspect of the star wars prequels.

This game is shit. The system requirements are high but it looks nowhere near as good as Wolverine Origins. Buggy, too. And I don't know, it became boring fast. I was actually excited when I first saw it, kind of reminded me of Infamous but the missions are more boring, especially considering the fact that you are basically invincible. I uninstalled it after I got through the tutorial and finished the first stealth mission (The stealth part goes like this: You absorb a random person, morph into that person and walk past the army guarding your apartment.)

Assassin's Creed.

Maybe it's just because I am too old to appreciate realistic/stealh games, but I find the control scheme for this game needlessly complex. I don't find any of the things Altair does to be that much different from the actions performed by other stealth type characters like Agent 47 or hell, even Wolverine from his most recent game, but the way Altair does it requires me to memorize different buttons to press an shit. Why not just make a context sensitive button?

It's one of those games that I found was way too overhyped. It was an ok, fun game; but nowhere near the life altering experience that many reviewers made it sound like.

Actually, I think the reviewers were just a buncha cunts, as everyone I know who has played it, says the same as me. It is a beautiful game, and starts out really well, but once you have done the same mission over and over and over again, you quickly lose interest.
I dont agree that the moves are overly complex, or that there is too much to memorize, but I do think there should have been a hell of a lot more variety to the missions.

I also think that the other thing it suffered from is lack of variation in the enviroments.
With games set in a modern era, you can really spice things up by moving from one locale to another, which will mean different architecture or weather etc, but every city in Assassins Creed looks identical.

Resident Evil 5.

Was blown away by the graphics. Both because it looked very realistic, and because it ran fairly well on my mediocre specs even at the highest detail settings (I'm getting 70+ average fps on the benchmark thingie), Capcom always was good at porting stuff to PC.

Controls are still the same as RE 4, which makes it an improvement over past RE games, as you no longer move like a slow ass tank (now you move like a fast tank!). And I actually thank this and RE 4 for training me on how to play FPSes with a gamepad instead of a mouse+keyboard combo.

Unfortunately, that's all I can praise about the game. Shit, Resident Evil is all about the aura of being scary, is why it became successful even with the crappy controls. The enemies on RE 4 were bad enough, as I don't find the Ganados scary. They're not the traditional zombies, since they burst into those weird looking slimy plant-like things. It's weird, but it's not scary. RE 5 made it worse by setting everything in bright environments. I'm fighting plant monsters in the fucking desert.

That's it, without the dark theme, it's basically an action game where you fight slimy plant bio-monsters. With bad controls. I said the controls are an improvement over past RE games but it's still shit. It's like it can't decide if it's a survival horror third person game or an FPS.

Infamous is good. It has more than its fair share of bugs, graphical errors, and some of the missions are repetitious and stupid, but it's still functional and addictive when you get right down to it. The powers are reasonably balanced unlike in Prototype where you're basically a god.

I do have some complaints about the story *cough*, and the building traversal could have been more fluid like in Assassin's Creed, but there's nothing in there time can't fix. And now that the engine's already been made, the sequel will definitely improve on everything.

Right now I'm playing:

I'm playing through the entire trilogy.

The He-man game was incompatible with PCSX2 so fuck it. deleted.

I just installed DiRT. Holy shit the load times on this piece of shit is terrible. It's not an exaggeration to say that I spent more time looking at the loading screen than playing the actual game itself. this shit will be uninstalled and I'm glad I just pirated the shit out of it. The graphics are awesome, though.

Its an older diablo clone but with higher resolutions and better features. I'm not that far into it but I've been enjoying the hell out of it so far.

Amazing game, and its amazing how quickly eleven and a half hours go when you are wrapped up in a story/game like this.

The humour is spot on (whats the scariest thing on the scare o meter of 1 to 10, clowns...ha ha), and the story is better than a good portion of movies these days.
Naughty Dog have proved with this that if you actually use the capabilities of the PS3, you can have a game that beats just about anything.
What they have done is nothing short of amazing, as from what I have read, the game not only utilises near enough the capacity of the blu ray disc, but also 90-100% of the PS3's cell capability.

I also love the fact that they designed it so that it doesnt have to install on your HD like so many other games (yeah, I am looking at you MGS4), and by using a longer load time at the begining of the game, there is no actual in game load wait, meaning smooth transition from level to level, and seemless shifts from gameplay to cutscene and back again.

The graphics are simply phenominal, even better than the first one, and that was damn near perfect.
The gameplay is great, but thats because they stayed true to the original, and didnt try fixing stuff that was broken (in fact they removed stuff like the vehicle driving bits that were the most complained about bits in the first one).

If any game franchise was designed to have movie sequels, then this is it.
Almost a modern day Indiana Jones, without all the stupidity of the Tomb Raider shite.

Time to do it all again I think, to get those missing trophies!

Kingdom Hearts 2. I like. I started playing this with low expectations about the story. I assumed it would be low-key kids crap due to Disney's part, but the story is actually kind of good and has a lot of depth (it's really just a squaresoft game with disney characters), and while majority of the humor is cheesy, there are certain parts that made me snicker.

it's an action rpg similar to zelda, it's not as passive as the traditional turn-based jrpgs, so there's a lot of fun to be had with grinding (and it's not really a grindy game. i just breezed through the unavoidable encounters so that I can continue the story) PLUS there's no "backtrack to all the places you visited and fetch so and so" quests. There's the part about pooh's book but it's not obstrusive, and you tend to find the items just by doing the main quest.

Also, I'm playing on an emulator and upscaling the internal resolution gives sweet results:

It was always gonna be short, I dont think they tried to cover it up. Like the first one, they wanted more emphasis on the online aspect and the single player is just an added bonus.
Been hearing rumours that they may even go for online only in the future.

Gears of War 2. fucking goegeous cinematics and level design, good story too and the characters were likeable. my only complaint is that the game is fairly short, completing it within a week. But the online Horde and versus gameplay are so fun I haven't played anything else since I bought this

Now that there are decent gamecube and playstation emulators, and that I have downloaded the fuck out of their libraries, I can safely say that the PS2 has a way better games.

Sure, the GC has a lot of first party greats that the PS2 can't top, but the rest of the games are piss poor, even with the same franchises for both consoles, the ones on the PS2 are always so much better. And it's not an issue of one hardware being more powerful than the other, since both systems looked fine to me. Just the games themselves.
