Modnation Racing demo. Fun game, horrible loading times. They've promised a fix after the release of the game. PC gaming has finally arrived to consoles.

Playing Red Dead Redemption.

Gameplay's good so far, but Rockstar just doesn't know how to stay away from the politics. I mean, I knew there'd be some mention of how evil the white man is and how the Christians are all bigoted proselytizers or some shit, but I didn't expect such a flagrant WASP parody right at the opening.

Metal Slug for the PS2.

Not the neogeo ports, but the 3D third person shooter. Had trouble with the controls at first, but once I have found out where the lock-on-target button is (the ISO i downloaded did not include a manual), I started having fun. The graphics look cool, with the super deformed anatomy retained but in 3D. Still don't know how to ride the tank.

I recently downloaded a gigatorrent of NES and SNES Roms, because I've been planning to buy a netbook and the only emulation I can do on it is N64 and older, so I've been going crazy with the following games:

G.I. Joe (NES) - this thing is way ahead of its time, with amazing (for its generation) graphics, multiple character choices that actually make a difference (different characters have different speeds, height of jumps, damage, and the designs are not just pallete changes). Boss battles and game stages are also varied and challenging

Lunar Ball (NES) - it's pool. Fun.

Othello (NES) - the CPU player is fuckin cheap. I swear it's cheating.

Yeah, NES games mostly. Fun, and easy to pick up. And it only takes a couple of seconds before I get to the actual playing part. One of the things I hate with newer games is the endless barrage of developer logo screens, very few of which are skippable.

Played the Split/Second demo. It should have been called "Michael Bay presents Gran Turismo".

Having finally played the game I have to say, you do fucking realise that that is how it was back then?
The fact that you have to complain like a little Snarf about something like this, when the game is fucking great, shows what a nitpicky little poof you are.

Wii Sports.

I bought a wiimote and a nunchuck just for this game and have been having a blast with Tennis and Boxing. Wife claims I don't have to look like an idiot while playing, because she can play the game while sitting, just by flicking her wrist. But where is the fun in that?

But its not even a real word (or penis).

Been downloading and playing tons of Wii games and noticed that majority of the games that I had liked (Wii Sports, the tennis games, Oneechanbara Bikini Zombie Slayers) were basically tech demo for the wii's controller. If it weren't for the remote - if these games were played using a normal gamepad - they would be too shallow and short to be worthwhile. They were the type of games that took a backseat to the wiimote.

The ones that actually have a complete game (Bleach games, WWE sVSr 2010, Dragonball Z BT3) behind the control scheme were tedious and needlessly complex, and would play better when using a gamepad (in fact, these games support the classic control or the GC pad). These games also tend to be ports from other systems.

The only exception I found so far is New Super Mario brothers and Mario Kart Wii, which seems like complete games even though they were obviously built around the controller.

Wario Ware is pretty awesome.
