  Sometimes I prefer a staged cosplay photo. But generally, I like the photos where a girl spontaneously strikes a pose on the convention floor and evokes a scene, based solely on her looks and personality, and maybe deliberately mimicking a cover or panel of the character from a comics appearance. Whether they're just being sexy, trying to pose in character, or ideally, both at once.

While I think the Playboy Vampirella is way prettier, I think the second one is more Vampirella-esque in her costume

I was impressed by how much her face looks like Jessica Rabbit.
Not really my type, but she does a great job of capturing the character.
And conversely, while posting her, there are several absolutely
gorgeous women that I didn't post, because they either don't look
anything like the characters they are cosplaying, or I have no
frigging idea what character they're supposed to be!

I started this topic as a show for hot cosplay women, but I was really impressed with this costume:  From "I Challlenged GROOT, the Monster From Planet X", a Lee/Kirby/Ayers story from TALES TO ASTONISH 13, Nov 1960. Byrne also did a retro-story that referenced the character (and the whole pre-Marvel monster era) in FANTASTIC FOUR 271-273.
