I love Garner as Jim Rockford in The Rockford files. Up until Hill Street Blues, I think it was the best-scripted show ever on television (one of whose producers went on to work on Hill Street Blues).

It seemed to me Garner could have been a leading man in films, but chose to work mostly in television, and definitely left his mark there.
A while ago, I saw talk of releasing the complete Rockford Files series on DVD, although I don't know if that's happened yet.

I just saw Garner yesterday in a 2004 movie called The Notebook.

A sentimental chick flick, but still a good and different role for him.

I was flipping channels, and turned it on near the beginning, where Rachel McAdams and Gosling were in some steamy romance scenes. And what the heck, I gave it a shot.

There were definitely both some wanking and crying moments in the movie. Bring a hankie if you watch it. A bit over-the-top and sappy at a few points, but overall a nice heartwarming story. Not a perfect or great movie, but still worth watching.
