I know we don't really do this stuff these days, and I know there were several deliberate attempts to put this particular universe behind us, but I've wanted to tell this story since before I got married. lately it's intruded into my brain - which is especially annoying when you have a podcast to run and are trying to build a site for it - to the point where I couldn't ignore it any longer, so I figured why not just hammer it out and be done with it? I hope you enjoy it, if you read it, but if you don't that's okay too.

that's all for tonight. I'm only three posts ahead and I'm aware my reputation for falling embarrassingly behind schedule precedes me.

tossed another one in. doing an isolated story like this makes it tricky because you have to fill in the blanks; in this case it's been about two in-universe years since the last story, and the one I'm jumping to is sixteen years ahead. I'm trying not to tell the entire story in between - though it kind of helps that the "canon" isn't being strictly enforced on here - but I'm attempting to drop in just enough detail that we have adequate context but there's still room to wonder about (or go back and fill in) everything that's supposed to have happened in the intervening years.

sorry for the delay; like I said I'm trying to write ahead and was actually getting stuck on future posts. ceej is contributing very helpful feedback.

okay, it's coming together. I still don't know who's actually reading this, and it's okay if you're not, but if anyone out there is following along, I hope you like what you see so far.
