I still remember up until about 1983, where there were only about 125 titles published in a whole month!

Would you buy every new comic every week if you could afford it? No. But I would definitely buy more. I still buy a lot in the way of back issues. And I'm amazed how much I still find to read in the pre-1990 era that I don't already have, that can be mined and enjoyed. My current areas to expand are about 50 or so issues of HOUSE OF MYSTERY to complete my run, as well as completing runs of Warren magazines like CREEPY, EERIE and VAMPIRELLA. It's not that I can't afford the new stuff, it's that it overwhelmingly disappoints me, and I prefer (my opinion) the far more creative and better written work of another era. The last thing I bought (and was disappointed with) was a Thor limited series by Simonson.
