They know the vote is doomed to fail, and its only purpose is so Landrieu can vote "yes" for the pipeline, even though they know there's no way the bill will pass.

possibly be their motive?
It couldn't possibly be to create some illusion of distance between Landrieu and the President Obama's war on the fossil-feul industry (that she's supported for 6 years, along with her corrupt bought-and-paid-for deciding vote for Obamacare) could it?
