Guess Who EpiPen CEO Donates To?
  • Heather Bresch, CEO of Mylan, which makes EpiPen, appears to be on her way to becoming Public Enemy No. 1. Mylan recently hiked the price of an EpiPen to about $600, from about $55 jut a few years ago.

What’s interesting, though, is that the Obama Administration won’t attack Bresch. According to Josh Earnest, President Obama’s press secretary, “As it relates to this specific issue, you know, obviously I’m not going to make specific comment or specifically second-guess the pricing strategy or the business practices of one private enterprise.”

One wonders if other Democrats will soon follow the White House’s lead since an FEC search reveals that Bresch contributes pretty heavily to Democrats. Indeed, 51 percent of her $63,800 in donations since 2003 went to Democrats including President Obama ($1,000), Senator Pat Leahy ($2,400), Representative Henry Waxman ($1,000), the West Virginia State Democratic Executive Committee ($10,000), and her dad, Senator Joe Manchin ($9,800). Her most recent donation, in June of this year, was to Senator Chuck Schumer. In fact, it was two donations worth $5,000.

Did she pay enough protection money? We’ll find out.
