Yes, Democrats won the VA and NJ governor races. And after FOUR congressional special elections since Nov 2016, where ALL went for Trump republicans and the media barely reported it, they're going orgasmic that Demcorats won the governor race in these two states, and that this is a bellweather or a wave for 2018.

LESSONS LEARNED FROM VIRGINIA AND NEW JERSEY GOVERNOR RACES

Except that doesn't quite ring true either, because governor candidate Gillespie is an establishment Republican who distanced himself from Trump, until it was obvious Gillespie was going to lose, and only a few days before the election sought endorsement and campaign assisitance from Trump.

So these elections should be seen as not a rejection of Trump, but as rejection of the establishment Republicans who obstruct Trump.

But regardless, Washington Democrats and the liberal media are jizzing all over themselves.

 Quote:
The results are in and New Jersey and Virginia have elected new Democratic governors.

In New Jersey, former Goldman Sachs executive and Ambassador to Germany Phil Murphy expectedly defeated Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno by a margin of 13 points, and in Virginia, Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam defeated former Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie by a 9-point margin

Surely, New Jersey’s swing to a Democratic governor is a product of an unpopular outgoing Republican governor, Chris Christie, and President Trump’s unpopularity in the state as well.

Further, outgoing Republican Governor Christie has the dubious status as New Jersey’s least popular governor in recorded history, reaching all-time low approval ratings of 15 percent.

This has greatly impacted Guadagno’s support in the campaign, as a recent Monmouth poll found that Guadagno’s association with Christie made 29 percent of voters less likely to vote for her, almost double the 16 percent who said her association made them more likely to vote for her.

To be clear, Murphy’s win will be an important pick up for the Democratic Party, but a win in what can be described as the Democrats’ backyard is not a major development in the national landscape.

In Virginia, the race between Northam and Gillespie proved to be both close and contentious, and will be the 2017 gubernatorial contest that is more thoroughly scrutinized by analysts in both parties as the 2018 midterm elections approach.

In the now seemingly reliable blue state, the Real Clear Average in the days leading up to Election Day indicated that Northam held a more than 3-point advantage over Gillespie, which Northam seemingly more than doubled in the final tallies.

As the initial exit polls indicate, minorities turned out at higher than anticipated rates, coming out in support of Northam and, to the extent President Trump was a factor in the election, he was a major negative to Gillespie’s candidacy.

Further, Northam margined to limit his losses throughout the reliably red counties throughout Southern and Western Virginia.

Most encouragingly, Northam campaigned on a moderate platform and offered the type of alternative agenda that the Democratic party must advance in order to succeed in 2018 and beyond.

To be sure, this victory alone does not change the disorder that was made abundantly clear in Donna Brazile’s recent revelations about the relationship between the DNC and Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Throughout the course of the Virginia campaign, Northam was never beholden to the Democratic party’s loudest, most liberal voices, as evidenced by his shift on sanctuary cities just last week. In fact, he defeated the progressive base’s preferred choice in the June primary.

Northam put forward a well-structured economic plan, involving job training and re-training, as well as advancing the Democratic party’s tradition values in the areas of women’s issues and gun violence prevention.

In terms of Gillespie’s campaign, the injection of nationalist sentiment and features of a culture war contributed to the negative nature of the campaign.

The role of the Trump administration with the Gillespie campaign was a tenuous one, despite Gillespie at times trying to distance himself from the president, even though many of the president’s policies and law-and-order rhetoric are in line with his own.

After all, Gillespie did indeed receive a public endorsement from Vice President Mike Pence and consistent support via Twitter from President Trump.

The president’s role in campaigns will clearly continue to be a critical issue as we approach the 2018 midterm elections.

For the Democrats in particular, it is now time to embrace alternatives and centrism in the style of Ralph Northam. Otherwise, the party will struggle to build on these first steps toward regaining power.

In other words, if Democrats are to win in the 2018 elections and beyond, they need to lie and pretend to be moderate and centrist, to fool the public into electing them.

And from DNC-NN:

DEMOCRATS SWEEP IN VIRGINIA AND NEW JERSEY

Orgasmic!

At least they acknowledged (only because President Trump drew attention to it on Twitter) that Republicans decisively won four previous Congressional elections over the last year.

Democrats and the Democrat-leaning liberal media are spinning this as a "wave" or "bellweather" for 2018. Whereas in truth, these were states that Frau Hitlery carried in Nov 2012. And even when they were Hillary/Democrat territory from the outset, the victories were not that overwhelming. If Gillespie had manifested support of Trump from the outset, he would have narrowly won, even in his predisposed Democrat territory, instead of narrowly losing.

These were liberal regions, not a manifestation of how the entire nation feels about Trump. In these regions, you could pretty much have Satan in the Flesh (D-NJ, D-VA) running for governor, and they would win. But even in these Democrat strongholds, support of Trump would have given them a chance of winning.

bs I've read the reporting. While these were definetly friendly states to Dems the bad news for Trump/GOP is the drop off in support he had in rural and suburban areas. Satan btw is running in Alabama, lol.

In the worst scenario if all is true, Roy Moore allegedly kissed a 14 year old girl about 38 years ago when he was in his 30's. Allegedly kissed one girl, maybe flirted with a few other girls. No allegations of actual sex. And the context of that is impossible to establish, and highly suspect to have surfaced this late in the election, especially after Roy Moore has already held so many political positions, for decades.

Both Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis married girls that age and had long careers after. It was a different time. Worst case scenario. And more likely, it's just a smear job by the Democrats and DNC/PR-wing media. And this allegation doesn't even say that he had sex with the 14 year old girl back then. If the same were said about any Democrat, the media would give it a complete free pass.

Meanwhile, there's Bill Clinton who actually assaulted/raped several women, and went on a trip to pedophile island, along with New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez, who was accused of sex with under-age prostitutes and is currently on trial for corruption charges, getting medical fraud charges removed for his close friend and large political donor.

MENENDEZ, 2015 INDICTMENT ON FEDERAL CORRUPTION CHARGES

In 2013, reports surfaced that a federal grand jury in Miami was investigating Menendez regarding his role in advocating for the business interests of Florida ophthalmologist Salomon Melgen, one of his close friends and major donors.[137][138] On April 1, 2015, the United States Department of Justice indicted both Menendez and Melgen, charging Menendez with—among other crimes—bribery, fraud, and making false statements.[139] According to the indictment Menendez asked top State Department officials to pressure the Dominican Republic’s government into enforcing a port-security contract that would benefit Melgen’s company while at the same time Melgen was promising to give $60,000 to Menendez’s political campaign.[140] Prosecutors also charged that Menendez acted as Melgen's "personal senator," helping obtain visas for several of Melgen's girlfriends.[141][142]

In return, Melendez is accused of accepting a range of perks from Melgen, including trips on Melgen's private jet, three nights at a five-star Paris hotel, a round of golf at a private club in West Palm Beach and access to an exclusive Dominican resort - some of which Menendez allegedly didn't report on financial disclosure forms.[139] Melgen also donated a substantial amount of money to benefit Menendez's political campaigns, and prosecutors claim that $750,000 of those contributions were tied to personal benefits Menendez accepted.[143][144]

Menendez voluntarily stepped down as ranking member of the Foreign Relations Committee after his indictment.[145] Menendez's trial began on September 6, 2017, before Judge William H. Walls of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey

FLIGHT LOGS SHOW CLINTON FLEW ON SEX OFFENDER'S JET MUCH MORE THAN PREVIOUSLY SHOWN

 Quote:
Former President Bill Clinton was a much more frequent flyer on a registered sex offender’s infamous jet than previously reported, with flight logs showing the former president taking at least 26 trips aboard the “Lolita Express” -- even apparently ditching his Secret Service detail for at least five of the flights, according to records obtained by FoxNews.com.

Clinton’s presence aboard Jeffrey Epstein’s Boeing 727 on 11 occasions has been reported, but flight logs show the number is more than double that, and trips between 2001 and 2003 included extended junkets around the world with Epstein and fellow passengers identified on manifests by their initials or first names, including “Tatiana.” The tricked-out jet earned its Nabakov-inspired nickname because it was reportedly outfitted with a bed where passengers had group sex with young girls.

“Bill Clinton … associated with a man like Jeffrey Epstein, who everyone in New York, certainly within his inner circles, knew was a pedophile,” said Conchita Sarnoff, of the Washington, D.C. based non-profit Alliance to Rescue Victims of Trafficking, and author of a book on the Epstein case called "TrafficKing." “Why would a former president associate with a man like that?”

Epstein, who counts among his pals royal figures, heads of state, celebrities and fellow billionaires, spent 13 months in prison and home detention for solicitation and procurement of minors for prostitution. He allegedly had a team of traffickers who procured girls as young as 12 to service his friends on “Orgy Island,” an estate on Epstein's 72-acre island, called Little St. James, in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Virginia Roberts, 32, who claims she was pimped out by Epstein at age 15, has previously claimed she saw Clinton at Epstein’s getaway in 2002, but logs do not show Clinton aboard any flights to St. Thomas, the nearest airport capable of accommodating Epstein's plane. They do show Clinton flying aboard Epstein’s plane to such destinations as Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, China, Brunei, London, New York, the Azores, Belgium, Norway, Russia and Africa.

Among those regularly traveling with Clinton were Epstein’s associates, New York socialite Ghislaine Maxwell and Epstein’s assistant, Sarah Kellen, both of whom were investigated by the FBI and Palm Beach Police for recruiting girls for Epstein and his friends.

Official flight logs filed with the Federal Aviation Administration show Clinton traveled on some of the trips with as many as 10 U.S. Secret Service agents. However, on a five-leg Asia trip between May 22 and May 25, 2002, not a single Secret Service agent is listed. The U.S. Secret Service has declined to answer multiple Freedom of Information Act requests filed by FoxNews.com seeking information on these trips. Clinton would have been required to file a form to dismiss the agent detail, a former Secret Service agent told FoxNews.com.

In response to a separate FOIA request from FoxNews.com, the U.S. Secret Service said it has no records showing agents were ever on the island with Clinton.

A Clinton spokesperson did not return emails requesting comment about the former president’s relationship and travels with Epstein. The Clinton Library said it had no relevant information and does not keep track of Clinton’s travel records.

Martin Weinberg, Epstein’s current attorney, did not respond to multiple inquiries. Epstein said in a court filing said that he and his associates “have been the subject of the most outlandish and offensive attacks, allegations, and plain inventions.”

However, hundreds of pages of court records, including reports from police and FBI agents, reviewed by FoxNews.com, show Epstein was under law enforcement scrutiny for more than a year.

Police in Palm Beach, Fla., launched a year-long investigation in 2005 into Epstein after parents of a 14-year-old girl said their daughter was sexually abused by him. Police interviewed dozens of witnesses, confiscated his trash, performed surveillance and searched his Palm Beach mansion, ultimately identifying 20 girls between the ages of 14 and 17 who they said were sexually abused by Epstein.

In 2006, at the request of Palm Beach Police, the FBI launched a federal probe into allegations that Epstein and his personal assistants had “used facilities of interstate commerce to induce girls between the ages of 14 and 17 to engage in illegal sexual activities.”

According to court documents, police investigators found a “clear indication that Epstein’s staff was frequently working to schedule multiple young girls between the ages of 12 and 16 years old literally every day, often two or three times per day.”

One victim, in sworn deposition testimony, said Epstein began sexually assaulting her when she was 13 years old and molested her on more than 50 occasions over the next three years. The girls testified they were lured to Epstein’s home after being promised hundreds of dollars to be his model or masseuse, but when they arrived, he ordered them to take off their clothes and massage his naked body while he masturbated and used sex toys on them.

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida prepared charging documents that accused Epstein of child sex abuse, witness tampering and money laundering, but Epstein took a plea deal before an indictment could be handed up.

On Sept. 24, 2007, in a deal shrouded in secrecy that left alleged victims shocked at its leniency, Epstein agreed to a 30-month sentence, including 18 months of jail time and 12 months of house arrest and the agreement to pay dozens of young girls under a federal statute providing for compensation to victims of child sexual abuse.

In exchange, the U.S. Attorney’s Office promised not to pursue any federal charges against Epstein or his co-conspirators.

Florida attorney Brad Edwards, who represented some of Epstein’s alleged victims, is suing the federal government over the secret non-prosecution agreement in hopes of having it overturned. Edwards claimed in court records that the government and Epstein concealed the deal from the victims “to prevent them from voicing any objection, and to avoid the firestorm of controversy that would have arisen if it had become known that the Government was immunizing a politically-connected billionaire and all of his co-conspirators from prosecution of hundreds of federal sex crimes against minor girls.”

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida did not respond to a request for comment about the deal.

Other politicians, celebrities and businessmen, including presidential candidate Donald Trump, have been accused of fraternizing with Epstein. Trump lawyer Alan Garten told FoxNews.com in a statement Trump and Epstein are not pals.

“There was no relationship between Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump,” he said. “They were not friends and they did not socialize together.”
